The sad thing, from Bradley's perspective, is the game wasn't nearly as close as the final score indicates...

I don't think Bradley's main problem is the coach, but since you brought it up, UC Davis has a 4-10 record and is last in the Big West. Although to your point, Jim Les might end up having have 1 more MVC win this year than Geno Ford come March at this rate.

Does Wells normally start? That kid is awful. He has no business ever seeing the floor except maybe for wiping up the sweat.

I knew Bradley was struggling, but I did not expect that. It just shows that this UNI team can be dangerous, and is actually fun to watch. We will see what they are made of going into Top 10 Wichita's house this Sunday. I expect that game could be like this one only with us on the wrong end of the 30 pt beat down.

Go Panthers!

Could you please tell that to some of our fans who think that just because a guy is 7 feet tall he's really good at basketball? And also to the 2-3 folks who still pine for the great Jim Les to be back at the helm since he recruited the great Nate Wells, Jordan Prosser, and Walt Lemon. Thanks.

Well he found a pretty good player in Walt Lemon. Simms-Edwards just graduated from Bradley as well right? That guy was pretty good too. Is Wells a senior?

Sure, he found a few good guys. He also found about 3 classes worth of terrible ones, which is why he's out at UC-Davis doing even worse than he did his last 5 years at BU.

Wells is a redshirt sophomore (junior school-wise). If I were Geno I would tell him that we'd love him back, but that he's gotten 3 years of a free $30K+ education so far and that if he wants to stay he'll need to finance his senior year as a walk-on. Most students at BU have to finance all 4 years in some way and would kill to get 3 years of it paid for, so I would not feel sorry for him in the least if that's what was presented to him. If he wants to actually get playing time, I am sure Illinois Wesleyan or St. Ambrose would love to have him.

So three years into Ford's run, at what point are we done talking about the recruits he came in with?

By this point Marshall had turned around the empty roster he inherited, putting together a 25 win team and an at large argument. IlSt is even a better team this year, and they basically kicked every guy off the team and started from scratch.

Everyone is done talking about/blaming the crap Jimmy left in Peoria. Most of the crap that's here now is Geno's, and it's not much better. In year 3 he's more or less whiffed on an entire backcourt.

However, the Marshall/Geno comparisons are hardly apples-to-apples. Turgeon didn't leave WSU in the state that Jimmy left Bradley. Not even close. Doesn't excuse the poor performance in Year 3, but not really sure the relevance of the Marshall comparison. The Muller one is better - good for him for having the b@lls and getting the support to do what he did.

Looking at Bradley teams from 3-5 years ago, I think they were way more talented than this team, and I thought the Bradley team last night had a very low Basketball IQ.

Pretty similar. WSU's roster was bad enough for Marshall's first two seasons to amount to 28 wins. Bradley's was bad enough to amount to 25 wins. Marshall won an extra three conference games during that span -- he also didn't have to deal with an elite WSU team, though.

WSU's roster might have been a bit better off, but not much. Marshall turned the roster over, got his guys in there, and was winning by year three after an awful first year. With his own players now, Geno is challenging for his worst season in year three. That's a pretty apples-to-apples comparison from the looks of it.
