Did see the WSU/UNI game earlier in the afternoon- Not impressed by either team in the first half. WSU looked better in the second half. But, did not see a final four team,--probably not an elite 8, at best perhaps a sweet 16, I said perhaps!! Think there is a very good chance some one, or two, will sneak up on WSU--may even happen in the MVC tourney.

Yes, clearly WSU is at best a Sweet Sixteen team.

The M.I.A.A. is an old, prowd conference. MIAA now a DII conference. After today's MSU/LUC debacle not sure the MIAA would let MSU back in.

One would think that it would be beneficial for the conference long term if Loyola were integrated into the conference quickly, rather than being shunned and scoffed at... But whatevahhhh... Wouldn't want to cut in to the possible sources of bellyaching and complaints, would we?

Sure would be, if only your RPI wasn't above 300 on account of that murderer's row of a non-con schedule LU put together.

But, if anyone deserve this, it was Missouri State.

Yes we were crappy in non-con. I'm not denying that at all. And yes, our non-con schedule was crap. Yet the non-con schedule was a legacy of previous commitments that were engaged in long before we became a conference member. But for either of two missed free throws going down from a freshman on the line with 10 seconds left, we would have beat Mississippi State on the road, and our RPI would have been around where Bradley's was.

All I wrote in the previous post was that it doesn't do anyone any good to constantly belittle Loyola just for the sake of . We're in the conference, and things would go better for everyone if our entrance wasn't turned into a cause celebre for people with toxicidic negative attitudes. Give us a chance to quickly grow into the conference without unnecessary and unproductive bitching. What good does it do to root for Loyola to bellyflop? Does after-the-fact complaining magically create a time machine where our admission to the conference can be undone?

It protects everyone else's RPI, which is a zero-sum game at this point. And it isn't just Loyola everyone (or at least the good teams) is rooting against. Its also SIU, Bradley and Evansville, all of whom have 200+ RPIs at the moment.

Bears got exposed today but I don't know how much of it was skill or ability. This was a total effort failure, total unpreparred debacle. If we didn't have the whole team on IVs before the game, there is no excuse.

You get NO honeymoon period! You replaced a ranked MVC team that had more NCAA births than any other school, one that allowed EVERYONE the opportunity for two top 50 wins. Not only that, but they averaged 15000 a game. Will you even get 15000 this year? You had a horrid non-con schedule and you lost a lot of those games. Loyola needs to get their act in gear immediately! I will not appologize for being disappointed. It's as if the homecoming queen dumped me before the dance and I got stuck taking my retarded cousin. Bears look awful--seen better high school teams. Can't pass the ball (throw it away), can't catch the ball (fumble fingers), can't dribble the ball (bounce it off the toe or kick the ball), evidently can't shoot the ball: 2s, 3s, or lay ups. Bears announcer said they were running a motion offense--all I saw was 4 guys standing around and the fifth standing and holding or dribbling the ball. Send Lusk to KC, KS and I will take him to see any of several KC, KS high school teams so he can see motion. Don't know why SMS/MSU have never recruited in the KC area.

From the number of maroon jerseys in the stands (I hesitate to call it a crowd) it appears there were more Bear than LUC fans at the game.

I wasn't impressed with MSU today. I think they're a 10th place Valley team.
