I think Tuttle being shut down is a product of WSUs size and athleticism combined with no second option in the post for the Panthers. It was too easy for the WSU post and Early to double in the post as there was no other big that could demand the ball near the basket.

They did not double the post. They stood him up, Tuttle stood around for 3 seconds, and a guard dug and either made him get rid of the ball, or took the ball.

We have a winner! If you are an unatletic Big Man, Ron, Tekele, and Freddy are going to make your night very frustrating.

We'll see in the rematch. But Tuttle is a smart player and I'm betting he adjusts and plays much better at home against WSU.

Agreed. I think Tuttle is a very nice player, without much help on the post. He can have some monster games, and he can disappear at times. I was just making a comment on the actual defensive scheme WSU used against him in the first game this year.

Thank you for correcting me. It was straight up post D and guard digs that he struggled with.

I say let the Big East worry about Creighton now.

Creighton really needs to make at least a Sweet 16 run sometime soon, as successful as they have been the past 20 years, they really need to get that monkey off of them. I am rooting for Creighton to win the Big East every year, it helps the Valley look better.

I think it only makes the Valley look better THIS year. After that it means nothing to MVC perception, and thank goodness for that! They will be in full rebuild mode next year when Gibbs, McDermott, Manigat, and Wragge are gone.

Yeah...

Things could get REAL ugly after this year.

I have no idea who they are bringing in, don't really care to be honest as UNI's recruiting classes are pretty much set for the next 2 seasons and the likelihood CU will go after Iowa kids as hard anymore is slim.

However, the production they are losing...is...well...

4 players that play at least 26 minutes a game (1,666 of the 3000 minutes played so far this season)
128 of their 170 3 points makes (75%)
60% of their 2 point makes...BTW interesting stat - Wragge has 58 makes this year...56 from 3. Only taken 6 2 pointers all season
61% of their total FG attempted
59% of their free throw makes
52% of all free throw attempts
64% of their rebounds
51% of their assists
40% of their blocked shots
57% of their steals
63% of their total points (50.1 of their 81.5 per game)

Basically they lose the top 3/4 of 5 in every category...

They lose almost 100% of this years stats after next year with the losses of Artino, Brooks, Chatman, and Dingman. Even out of those 4 only Brooks and Chattman are over 16 MPG.

Creighton is going to hit the typical late season Mc$ slump with 5 players averaging 26+ MPG and only 1 more over 15....especially with their trips taking them to twice as far as they were used too.

Having seen Drake's post game this past weekend I'd have to think they can't be #2 in he Valley. Perhaps top half due to the lack of any post by some of the bottom teams. But Top 2 or 3 seems unlikely. SVD just isn't the force he used to be and I saw nothing else to impressive from their unit as a whole. They only stopped Tuttle, Mitchell and Washpun from dominating the paint by basically stuffing the lane with 4 players. You all saw the end result of that strategy.
[Insert snappy comeback]

Wow. Why the obsession with Creighton? They have moved on and so should you. Besides, the MVC has replaced them with a better school that has better basketball, better attendance, etc. . . . . . . oh, wait . . nevermind.
