I think Walt has a great chance to be POY.

Hard to be a POY on a team that plays on Thursday.

POY- Between Early and Odum...depends on which team has a more impresive season.

NOY- Zach Lofton scoring machine, smooth game. You heard it here first.
I expect big things from him on a team that needs to find its identity.

FOY- Jordan Swopshire.

I don't see that happening this season. If it does, then Geno's seat should be getting very warm.

Did we ever do anything for a 6th Man Award? I'm thinking Nate Buss is shaping up nicely for that one. He only plays about 20 mins but still averages 10 pts and 5 boards while shooting 56%. I think that, barring an injury to Rank or Tuttle, he'll continue to play from the bench because of the success we've had with this lineup and the offensive spark he provides.

I admit that I have no idea what the other teams have coming off the bench though

I think there is an All Bench team. While agree with you about Nate Buss, Ill counter you with Khristian Smith from Indy state. 10.4 ppg, 3.1 rpg, shoots 56% from field, and 52% from 3pt range. Cant speak for other teams.

I briefly looked over his stats but assumed he started since he had the 5th most minutes on the team. Obviously not the best way to figure it out but I assume its accurate more often than not. That is certainly a close race although Smith only has 3 more pts than buss and Nate has more blocks, steals and rebounds and less turnovers. This is also while having played 30 less mins or nearly 1.5 games for either player.

Plus, since I assume we look at the full body of work, not just MVC play, Buss has played better competition on the way to that stat line.

If Reggie Lynch of ISUr doesn't start either I think he deserves some recognition. He's not far behind Buss and Smith and he averages about 2.5 blocks to go along with 7 pts, 4 Rebs and shooting 60% in just 17 mins of action. At 6-10 230 he sounds like a slightly skinnier, yet taller, Seth Tuttle. That'd be nice to have on the bench.

Is Early still the guy for the Larry Bird Award? I know it has to be someone from WSU unless something truly crazy happens.

Like I said earlier I have Early - 1, Odum - 2, FVV - 3, Baker - 4. In my opinion, Odum only gets it if Early slips production or gets hurt, and FVV gets it only if Early slips and Odum gets hurt.
