By that time Scheer appears set and only moves backward at contact. Supposedly Lusk said the league issued apology today for the erroneous call; doesn't really matter and if so stupid move on their part. The call was what it was and I think issuing apologies if they did just makes things worse. Calls get made that affect the out come of games thru-out the 40 minutes, you just have to live with it.

It was a 50/50 call and WSU was fortunate to get that call, especially on the road. But you do make a good point. One call doesn't decide a game, although we sometimes forget that depending on the timing of certain calls (obviously the ones at the end of games)

Bear fans are taking this surprisingly well, which is nice to see.

Like has been said, per Lusk on his radio show tonight the league has stated that the call should have been an offensive foul. Not sure what the point of that is, seems to me like it would just create problems. As stated by others, Bears fans seem to be taking this better than expected.

I don't know that we're taking it that well, there just isn't anything you can do. Plus I think we feel we had enough other things within our own control that we should not have been in the position for that call to be so critical. Our biggest concerns are will our coach mature at the same rate as our talent will, and will he shed enough of his conservative nature to tolerate letting talented young players mature on the court instead of the bench. We have a tough stretch with two road games against ISUb and UNI this week so could easily be 2-4 a third way thru and scrambling the rest of the season.

This is pretty easy - and simple, too.

WSU played about 25 minutes of good basketball at MSU. That happens to every team and can happen on any night. MSU played about 35 minutes of good basketball. I'm just talking about regulation here.

A top 5 team can beat a top-100 team with 25 minutes of good ball. A top 100 team needs 40 minutes of good ball tobeat a top 5 team.

The observation that WSU didn't look very good and MSU looked very good is accurate.

There is obviously one poster in this thread with very little experience following a ranked team or even following a team moving into the rankings. Doesn't InSU's last ranking in the polls coincide with Larry Bird's last year?

Ranked teams beat unranked teams even when the ranked team isn't looking like a ranked team. WSU has given 17 opponents an opportunity to win a game against them. 17 opponents have failed. Out of those 17 games, WSU has had more than one or two where they didn't really look like a top-10 team, but they still won those games. Teams that aren't "top-10 teams" lose some of those games when they're just a little off.

When you're one of only 4 undefeated teams, and you have a road win against a ranked team that's leading their conference, you're going to get some serious love in the polls.

Which would you rather have, an opportunity to beat a top-5 team or an opportunity to beat a top-20 team?

The NCAA wants to eliminate that play, and they are going to achieve that goal by punishing the defender. Like it or not, they don't want the UNI's of the world flopping.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing Scheer of flopping, but secondary defenders underneath elevated ball handlers are going to get the block call 90% of the time now, and the other 10% are going to be wrong.

I don't care for the rule (interpretation or otherwise) and it benefits teams like WSU. But like it or not, it's the way it's going to be from now on.

You didn't seem to like using real game records as data points.

Name the category you'd like to defend your argument with. So far you haven't defended it at all.

Your trolling can be picked apart a hundred different ways. If you had any actual substance to your argument, you would have defended it by now with actual facts and numbers.
