UNI v MSU 1/18

UNI looking real good early up 27-15 with 9:38 left.

UNI 4/5 from 3

Nate Buss got first career start - over Chip Rank (might be losing his 6th man of year award now)

Tuttle dominating the low post.

We've seen this story from UNI before those. I don't know the exact number but I'd guess 5-7 of UNI's losses involved a double digit lead for UNI...

Tuttle is completely controlling this game.

He is running the offense from the block. He is pointing where he wants perimeter players to go, calling ball screens, calling passes, etc... It's working like you wouldn't believe. He is getting dunk after dunk right now and is opening up all kinds of space on the perimeter

33-20 UNI with 5:30 left

ESPNU keeps saying Marshall is done for the year. I thought it was just a month or two.

Side note: Buss now has 10 pts with 4 mins left in the first half. I think he'll be staying in the starting lineup

The shooting numbers for this game, both teams, are un-freaking-real

COMPARISON
STAT MSU UNI
FG% 55% 71%
FGs 11-20 15-21
3FG% 57% 67%
3FGs 4-7 6-9
FT% 71% 100%
FTs 5-7 3-3

UNI, other than the 3s isn't shooing a lot of jumpers, they are getting a lot of dunks/lay ups

MSU has hit about 5 straight threes and it's down to 39-36 with 56 seconds left in the half

MVOUIKA with 10 straight for MSU

This is the Ron Mvouika we recruited and expected to be a major player for us.

Pretty good game so far. I am impressed with MSU's resiliency.

UNI got a little tentative with the lead and made a couple errors (coupled with some ridiculous 3's by Gulley and Mvouika) to let MSU back into it. If the Panthers can challenge some of those 3's and go back to working the Bears in the post I think they'll finish this one out comfortably. They have absolutely dominated MSU in the paint today
