Shox look to go 20-0 when they come into Normal. Hopefully students and fans support team and sell out for first time since Creighton in 2009, as the young birds look to go 5-2 in Valley play...

Where will the Wichita fans stay besides the Westin in Saint Louis? I'm pretty sure I booked a hotel where there will be a lot of Wichita fans. The Pear Tree. That is how I got the idea to stay there. From some thread on the shockernet site because people talked about getting a cheap AAA rate from that hotel and it was one of the cheapest rates for a hotel that is actually good and not dumpy. The Ramada is cheap but it is a dump as is the Millennium. Looking for combination of cheap and decency and the Pear Tree seems to fit that qualification. The Pear Tree has free parking which not a lot of downtown properties have, as well as free breakfast and free happy hour with 3 free glasses of beer/wine and free wireless internet and free soda and free popcorn included in the cost.rlh04d wrote:I love that the 15 year old ruined this thread before it even started >=)
It seems like last year I didn't come into contact so much with as many as I probably would this year. Mostly because I won a contest and ended up getting a free stay at the ISU team hotel, the Embassy Suites. So since I stayed at the ISU hotel, that means it was mostly around our own fans. There were not many Shockers fans at the hotel I stayed at because it was the ISU team hotel. I do remember there were some Creighton fans there though at the Embassy. Obviously outside of the hotel, I saw them but it probably accentuates it more when you are actually at the same hotel as them. I wonder if it would be bad to stay at a hotel where there would be Shocker fans and not as many ISU fans.AndShock wrote:You will probably run into a lot of Shocker fans no matter where you are in St. Louis.

It is Drury hotel but as a Pear Tree, it is cheaper than the other Drury properties downtown. I imagine a lot of Shocker fans will also stay at the Crowne Plaza under the Shocker Radio rate, but plenty seem to be staying at the Drury properties too particularly the Pear Tree that has the best deal. I also joined the Drury hotel rewards club thingy. I know there has also been a buzz about the Shocker Maniacs screwing over the die hards and the hot chicks screwing over the die hards, but I also see there has been much controversy about the Shocker Maniacs Arch Madness trip going to the top point earners instead of first come first serve, as has been the case in past years.
