Real shame for them is that the valley this year wont give them a true perspective of where they stand nationally. I don't see them as a top 5 team. Offensively they are clunky at times and depth would be an issue against a top 20 team. They look to be a top 15 squad if you ask me. Top 10 at best.

This game was more about how poor ISUB performed. Lots of SR and JR on the team, yet they come out and lay an egg. Odum as a FR was more dynamic. This version of him relies on driving and praying for calls. Hardly notice him out on the floor for much of the game. Gant looked like a junior in high school, not so much a junior in college. After watching them some this year I think Moore is the only real post guy they have. Too bad he got in early foul trouble because the rest were incredibly soft . At this point I'd give the edge to UNI to be the team that defeats the Shocks this year. Their guards are quick enough to put pressure on FVV and Baker. Also no way Tuttle has another poor performance the second time around. He has been impressive lately.

It is amazing how lucky WSU is to catch all these games when their team lays "an egg" or shoots poorly. Maybe WSU have something to do with that?

Saw an awful lot of open looks clank off the rim. Even the announcers commented that they were kind of surprised by the amount of wide open misses. The shocks defense was very good, but I saw a lot of good looks just flat out missed. Would it make you feel better if I tell you that WSU played the best defensive game ive ever seen?

No, just have heard this from multiple teams over two years now.

Yep. Because even the second best team in the MVC can't give us a "good" win. You realize you're condemning the Valley and YOUR TEAM, not us, right?

I really love how pathetic you have to be to throw crap on yourselves just to try to find something to attack us with.

51 of 65 AP voters go against the consensus Sycamore fan wisdom and slot WSU in the top 5. http://www.pollspeak.com/component/opti ... ,187/w,12/

Simpletons. Don't they know we will lose at least 4 MVC games before March Madness?

That's what the WSU defense does. Especially in a home game. ISUb isn't as bad as the score indicated, but that's in large part because WSU does a good job of rattling opponents on defense.

For comparison sake, here's how the six MVC opponents have shot against WSU so far compared to their season average:

ISUb .314 -- .478 0.164
Bradley .352 -- .426 0.074
MoSt .407 -- .441 0.034
IlSt .327 -- .408 0.081
UNI .339 -- .455 0.116
SIU .541 -- .469 -0.072

Only one team (SIU) has shot above their season average. ISUb obviously had the largest negative shooting differential so far.

Never said I had a vote. Don't be fooled, most of those guys wont vote the shockers lower due to them being undefeated. They lose a game or two they will drop to where most think they should be. If I did have a vote I'd put them where everyone else has them. Their unbeaten! Have to reward them for that. Now if you ask me to rank the teams capable of winning a championship against elite competition come march? That would be where I had the shockers 12th or so. I don't see why that is such a knock on them. That still makes WSU an outstanding basketball team with a shot at a FF.

you guys are right. Pittsburg and Ohio State also had games where they sucked last year and got drilled.

Anyone who thinks WSU isn't a top 5 team would have to say they weren't a top 4 team last year. This years team is as good, if not better, than last years. The seasoning on this team is apparent.

Sorry Shock fans for this late congrats on the game Saturday. Your team played with skill and determination, something I hope our Trees can do on our rematch. I graduated in 79' during our Wonder Year. Sit back and enjoy the experiences and the thrill of your season. They come far and few in between. Your fans look to be first class and you should repersent the Valley proudly. I just hope the Trees will get it to gather and join you at the dance.

Enjoy...... :bounce:
