Already have seen that matchup and didn't go well for Lynch. Three points on 1-4 shooting and one free throw made. Six rebounds, one assist, four blocks, and three turnovers in 22 minutes. The only good stat is the four blocks. This game the 8, 9, 10 players off WSU bench played 16, 12, and 12 minutes. WSU cleared the bench early in the game at home.

This is not going to be WSU first loss. Redbirds don't play disciplined enough basketball to compete with the Shocks. I am impressed with the early season record. I see it as more of a reflection of the weakness of the valley and not the strength of the Redbirds.

are you on drugs? There is nothing impressive about it. All they have proven is they can beat some of the worst teams in Div I (who happen to be in the MVC).

Illinois State doesn't match up well with WSU. Don't tell this to Redbird fans though. It'll take another abnormally freakish good shooting night for Illinois State and the worst night of basketball for the year for WSU for this thing to be close.

I mean, it must eventually happen.... right????

A heart warming and amusing post. "Thanky" as they say in the south.

I hope Wichita comes in to this game underestimating the RedBirds.

If they come to Normal with the attitude that some of the fan base has, along with some hot shooting, and home cooking...

RedBirds by 10

Birds are on a 3 game winning streak, 7 game home winning streak, we've beaten a top 25 team, Big 10 team, and a Big East team.

We also saw MSU damn near beat WSU, if it weren't for the refs.

Then this would be the first time WSU came in underestimating a team unless you count the first half of MSU. You take away the first half and WSU has outscored Valley opponents by 111 points in six games. Doesn't seem like they are underestimating anyone this year.

In the MSU game I don't think WSU underestimated MSU or took them lightly at all.
The Bears just played as well as they possibly could for that 1st half and several minutes into the 2nd half. It was an impressive effort and I was proud of our guys. Still a L in the end though.

Not quite as impressive as Illinois State, but WSU is coming in on a 19 game winning streak, has a win over a Top 20 team on the road, and just got done taking the Redbirds behind the woodshed in Wichita a week ago.

It is Illinois State's Super Bowl though so you never know.

WSU 23-1 in their last 24 and the only loss to the national champion by 4 points
