Beating Iowa on a neutral court is still a very nice-looking win right now.

I think it was just random poll mechanics that caused Nova to jump Wichita.

Those who have Wichita ahead of Nova probably have Wichita 1 spot ahead.

Those who have Nova ahead of Wichita probably have Nova ahead by more than 1. There may be more people who have Wichita > Nova but the gap produced by the minority makes up for it.

Plus, I'm guessing there were a few stragglers left over who had Villanova around 9th or 10th, and jumped them several spots, spots that Wichita jumped in previous weeks.

Bottom line, ignore the polls. They don't make the mathematical sense you think they do

If you have an agenda, sure.

Both are very good teams deserving of their Top 25 spots.

Why? Because it makes you look better?

Weird seeing Creighton fans still hanging around here.

Iowa sitting at #6 by KenPom, Saint Louis at #27.

I certainly wouldn't say KenPom is the be-all, end-all (Creighton isn't a top 5 team), but it's certainly a better metric than polls. I don't know if I could find a way to argue that SLU was better. They're certainly a very good team, but Iowa is better.

Although road game > neutral court lowers the difficulty gap between those two.

RPI has SLU at 26 and Iowa at 28. That's before SLU won tonight and Iowa lost.

One can throw out the numbers they want to favor their point. The truth is that they are probably pretty close.

This SLU v Iowa discussion reminds me of the phrase "it's why they play the game" but of course we all know that some don't want to play the game. It is also what makes March Madness so great.

Go Valley!

Go Shocks!!
