In the 2004-05 NBA season, the five most accurate dunkers had a FG% between 97 and 99%.

For the same season, the five most accurate lay-up artists had a FG% between 71 and 74%.

If you can find anything NCAA D-I or higher that contradicts this study, please link!

I do find it hilarious that since popping off in this thread I have seen an obscenely high number of missed dunks over the past couple of days. I chalk it up mostly to Memphis being a bunch of show-boating morons.

There's a big difference between dunking for points and dunking to make the highlight reel.

Dunking for points is extremely high %. Showboat dunking isn't.
