I know i'm old but, I can remember MANY years the CU and WSU crowds were hard to locate. It used to be SIU, ISUR, BU, and MSU. It was in St Louis then and all was well.
How was attendance for those teams in those years?
SIU always had 2-3k
The others usually had a grand or 2

Never had many UNI, CU, DU, WSU. Maybe a grand total. The Trees usually had more than any of those. St Louis and the Valley were very happy with the turnout. Expectations have been raised but the talk of going to campus sites is silly. THE WOMEN have neutral site tourneys.
I was thinking home attendance, actually.

I just can't see many of the teams in the Valley ever sending many people to St. Louis when they struggle to get people to attend home games. When WSU's St. Louis attendance was low, I'd assume it was during the 90's when WSU's home attendance was also low. Considering WSU's worst season for attendance in the 90's would still be upper half of the Valley this year, I don't see much promise for teams averaging 5k fans to send many to the tourney.
I believe that SIU was around 8500 per home game in its good years.

I believe attendance will be okay this year if WSU remains ranked. The MVC will see some local traffic from folks wanting to see WSU up close. Numbers will be down overall, but I don't think they'll fall to the point where anyone associated with the MVC will seriously consider relocation as of yet.

If we had any other team in the Valley averaging 8500 for home games, their St. Louis attendance would likely be strong.

Upper half? Think again, WSU worst is still better than what MVC team are getting right now.

Our worst season for attendance in the 90's was 1996 at 5,528 per game. That was by far the worst year we had during that bad stretch.

I'm too lazy to check the full season attendance stats for all of the MVC teams, but that would rank us 4th in the conference right now only looking at conference games. 5th if you include us this year. Upper half.
