Next best true frosh is Ruder from Missouri St., with near stats to simmons..So be careful who you bash, no other team can claim a frosh with those stats.

I guess you proved that even really bad players can get some stats given enough minutes. He certainly leads the league in meanimgless points and points given up.

I seriously can't get over all these posts saying the Shockers aren't a top 5 (Top 3?) team...Seriously.

I hope they are! They are running the table right now. If they are over-rated, the conference is worse than we all seem to think it is. I seriously, seriously doubt many people here have any clue what it takes to be perfect at anything as an individual, much less as a team. It's a whole lot easier to tear that kind of effort down than it is to champion it...sad.

As an ISU fan, I can tell you this...I hope the Sycs are taking notes. It's not often that a mid-major gets a chance to see this type of squad up close throughout the season and perhaps face them three times. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and I would have zero issues with the Sycamores taking a few pages out of the Wichita preparation and development books. Perfect storm or not, it's impressive.

I felt like we got better every time we played VCU, similarly.

I'll ignore the random fly-by-night Evansville fans embarassing their school.

AceDad, were you able to make it to the game in Wichita?
Also, is you son (Lucious?) playing professionally?

Nice Win Shockers sorry to be late on the congrats. As a couple of poster have pointed out our lack of depth in the bench for the 4-5 position is hurting this team

Hope your a Monday night team with 2 loss both to Evansville on in Evansville and one in the tourney

Lifer, thanks for your post. I was going to make a post about minutes played, but I thought better of it.

Player Simmons plays about 24% more minutes than a typical player.

My calculation is as follows:

Simmons average conference play minutes: 34.8
Typical or average starter minutes (assumption): 28
Percentage minutes over average: 24.3%

Did not get to the game due to weather. I was tagged as a back-up speaker for a Black History Month program that Saturday night because we did not know if the speaker would make it. Of course, she did.

My son played overseas for 3-4 years before spending 18 months as the Director of Basketball Operations on the UE staff.

He now currently is a full time basketball trainer at the Evansville Basketball Academy and has a personal Blackheart Basketball training program. Both allow him to work with players on basketball skills and strength traning.

There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.
