My post was for the fool. Please provide source of meaningless points and points given up?[/quote]

I checked the last four blowout losses for UE. Blake made a three with 1:20 left down 17 against WSU, a field goal with 1:54 left down 18 at UNI, a three down 21 with :02 left against In. St. His best point output was at home against UNI. A game that UE was down 30 from the opening tip. Why is a starter still playing when we are down around 20 with two minutes or less unless one is trying to pad stats. His defense is obviously terrible to anyone that isn't blind.

Next best true frosh is Ruder from Missouri St., with near stats to simmons..So be careful who you bash, no other team can claim a frosh with those stats.

Do you seriously think Simmons is in the same category as Ruder? Have you seen them both play? I have and there is no comparison. I'd be willing to bet Ruder is all Valley before he's done. I just don't see that for Simmons.

Ruder is currently 8 treys from breaking the Bears freshman three point record (set by Ahearn). A fair number of his treys have been with the game on the line too. He also plays smart defense and only rarely commits a turnover. No comparison.

I like Ruder as the second best freshman in the MVC behind Doyle with Lynch as the #3 frosh. Ruder is probably the second best shooter behind Ballentine. As a shooter, I put him right with or slightly better than Baker.

Agree. I'd rate Ballentine, Baker, and Ruder as the 3 best shooters in the league. And I've seen both Ruder and Baker hit big shots with the game on the line. I haven't seen that from Ballentine but I haven't seen that many Aces games.

3 very good young players.

Also, is you son (Lucious?) playing professionally?

Did not get to the game due to weather. I was tagged as a back-up speaker for a Black History Month program that Saturday night because we did not know if the speaker would make it. Of course, she did.

My son played overseas for 3-4 years before spending 18 months as the Director of Basketball Operations on the UE staff.

He now currently is a full time basketball trainer at the Evansville Basketball Academy and has a personal Blackheart Basketball training program. Both allow him to work with players on basketball skills and strength traning.

Thanks for the update. Always enjoyed watching him play. Class act!

UE under Simmons definitely does not land as many Juco players as most MVC teams. How many they effort, I'm not certain. There are currently none, and only one last year.

UE also does not land many D1 transfers. I can only think of two under Simmons, and neither of them has played an MVC game yet (one withdrew a few weeks after becoming eligible, and the other will be eligible next season).

Would I like to see equal classes? Absolutely. Will I scream and yell in 2018 if UE finds itself in the same situation again? Maybe... that's a long way in the future.

I'm not sure what GPA score UE holds their student athletes to but I understand that 2.0 compared to a 2.5 is a significant difference. It could hinder the recruitment of JUCO students. This year UE picked up a transfer player who will be a Sophomore next year that is an overloaded class at 7 players. UE currently has 1 scholarship with Sawvell's mid-season defection.
