Ugly win, but a win nonetheless.

Saluki fans should feel good about their team heading into next season. Lots to like.

nice effort by the Salukis. They have a nice core and a bright future. Need a couple bigs and they're there.

I'm starting to finally be convinced this year might actually be an aberration for the league. Good reason to believe UNI, SIU, MoSt, Evansville, Loyola, and Illinois State will all be significantly better next year.

Good game SIU, you guys have something going, I think you guys got a solid shot at being a top 3 team next year. Beane is tough

Beane had a very nice line. Big time line.

I thought the turning point was when Desmar fouled out. I told Señora Rio that if Desmar fouled out, it would not make me unhappy. I be damned, if he did not foul out in less than 10 seconds later. He got a little testy and almost drew a technical.

There was a Beane, who played for K-State. It is my understanding that he is now Coach Beane for Coach Hinson. Player Beane is the son of Coach Beane. I am not sure all of this is correct.

Before the game began, I told Señora Rio that Coach Hinson was famous for his foot stomp. Sure enough, there came a time, when he had a four stomper. Three stomps with his right foot and one stomp with his left foot. Señora happened to be looking directly at Coach Hinson, when the stomping began. So, the Señora has an accurate count. However, it did not show up in the box score.

I thought there was a game oddity. Wessel fouled a Saluki. By hand signal, the referee made it very clear that Wessel hit the Saluki in the forehead with the heel of his hand. I was surprised that a flagrant foul was not called. Instead a regular personal foul was called. There was not even a touch of conversation or review by the referees. I guess I do not know the rule.

I was told that Beane did not score much in the last eleven minutes of the game. Is that correct?

I don't think anyone but MSU fans doubted that Hinson would get SIU turned around.

I don't think ANYBODY thought he would get that done this year.

The Salukis have a really tough end of the season schedule (@InSU, BU, @UE, @UNI, IlSU). That's a tough stretch, but the Salukis seem to have the talent and ability to possibly avoid Thursday in St. Lou.

Congrats to Barry and to the Salukis. The Ugly Dawgs are a much better team today than anyone expected in October.

There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

SIU has nice guards. Definately building something there. It looked like a typical late season conference game. It's the dog days of February. Always a dangerous time for top teams to possibly get knocked off by up and comers. Just glad they got the W.

Playing at Evansville has been tough and I still think the game @ Loyola will be tougher than some think. Will be interesting for sure! GO SHOX!
