Indiana State at Bradley (2/12)

Postby isumvc1 » February 12th, 2014, 6:29 am

BIG game for both teams tonight, Sycamores need a win to stay clear of 3rd place, a win by Bradley gives them a great shot to avoid Thursday.

The Braves nearly won in TH a couple weeks ago. We'll see which ISU shows up tonight? The ISU that played the 1st half at UNI or the ISU that played the 2nd half at UNI?

Game could go either way. Tune in!! Oh wait, there's no TV for this game!

Good thing I got tickets then. KILL INDIANA STATE!!! :bounce:

This is actually not as big of a game for the Braves as the road trips through Normal and Carbondale coming up, because those have tiebreaker implications. Obviously though, it'd be a nice statement win.

I can't decide what I think about the Sycamores. Obviously their record is impressive but I'm not sure how good they are. Maybe its blasphemous to say this but Jake Odum has not had a very good year, IMO. His shooting numbers are awful. I realize scoring isn't everything but his inability to make outside shots has to hurt the Sycamores.

The most dangerous players right now are Smith and Arop.

This game could be a 15 point ISU win, an 8 point Bradley win or anything in between and I wouldn't be surprised.

One game at a time!

I hope we can get 9- 11,000 to Carver and lock in and get it done.

Indiana St. is favored by 2. Let's hope Bradley can continue their solid home play. A win here and I think Bradley has a good shot at closing the year out with a 10-8 record.

If the teams that showed up in the 2nd half against UNI showed up all the time, this league would be awesome.

However, I am more of a belief that this effect has a lot more to do with UNI than any other team in the league.

Odum was never a great outside shooter but he has been dealing with back and calf problems all year as well as having tendinitis in both knees. He just started practicing full time in the last couple weeks.

He still leads ISU in rebounds and assists. He has the best A/TO ratio of his career. About 2.5-1.

we totally agree with this, Jake has not been nearly as good, Jake Odum as a redshirt freshman was WAY better than Jake Odum as a senior, now a lot of that has to do with injuries, sure, but a lot also has to do with the fact that opposing teams know how to guard and play against Jake. His drives to the basket and passes back out to an open shooter are long gone. He's not a good shooter at all, if you've seen him shoot a 3 it's dreadful. I cringe every time he takes that shot because it rarely goes in.

Most of us are looking forward to a new set of players coming in for ISU next year, fresh faces with maybe a new stye (up tempo) of offense? We'll see?

This is one of those games where a wide range of outcomes would not be surprising. The MVC is always such a slog this time of year.

Has Bradley had 9000+ in at all this year?
