Odum with an all-MVC type performance tonight for ISU, 27 points, 13-13 from the FT line, 5 rebounds, 3 assists. Smith with 14 for ISU, Arop with 12.

after going 0 fer in the 1st half from 3, ISU shoots 5-8 from 3 in the 2nd half. Much better, and our good FT shooting returned as ISU hit 22-28 from the FT line

final score from Bradley is ISU 68, BU 62

Odum made me eat my words. Wow. Great game by him. He made threes, free throws, and showed why he is an All-MVC player and Walt Lemon is not. Odum won the battle of the senior guards by a long shot.

Odum is a winner who makes winning plays, Lemon is not.

Plus the Sycamores made and shot a lot of FT's....Bradley was horrible from the line. Ugly performance by Bradley. Sycs weren't pretty but Odum was enough.

Congrats Trees.

Maybe its blasphemous to say this but Jake Odum has not had a very good year, IMO. His shooting numbers are awful. I realize scoring isn't everything but his inability to make outside shots has to hurt the Sycamores.

The most dangerous players right now are Smith and Arop.

This game could be a 15 point ISU win, an 8 point Bradley win or anything in between and I wouldn't be surprised.

Yo, Tribe.....checkout Odum's stats in tonight's game. :bounce:

we totally agree with this, Jake has not been nearly as good, Jake Odum as a redshirt freshman was WAY better than Jake Odum as a senior, now a lot of that has to do with injuries, sure, but a lot also has to do with the fact that opposing teams know how to guard and play against Jake. His drives to the basket and passes back out to an open shooter are long gone. He's not a good shooter at all, if you've seen him shoot a 3 it's dreadful. I cringe every time he takes that shot because it rarely goes in.

Most of us are looking forward to a new set of players coming in for ISU next year, fresh faces with maybe a new stye (up tempo) of offense? We'll see?

This might be the stupidest thing ever said by an Indiana State fan. Most of us do not want Odum to graduate. Would we really want a guy with 1500 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists, and 200 steals to leave? Put the pipe down. Odum also has an outside chance at being the all time winningest player in ISU history or at least top 2-3 if he's not already. I will tell you one thing, be careful what you wish for.

Interesting dilemma now for ISU fans. With IU losing to Penn State tonight they are almost assured to make the NIT field. So is it going to be better for ISU to win the MVC tourney and make the NCAA field or finish strong, lose in the MVC tourney and face IU in a certain 1st round NIT game at Bloomington

I truly hope that's not a serious question...

I'm not even sure what the question was, because no one would honestly advocate NOT going to the NCAA's. Right?

going to the NCAA's would be better, but there are a LOT of ISU fans who would love to see a matchup with IU in the post season as well. We'd certainly have a shot to beat them.

Setting up a scenario where failing to make the NCAA tournament is actually a good thing?

Look, maybe that's a good consolation prize, if you're that focused on playing them. But going to the NCAA tournament is everything.

Nice win for the Sycamores on the road- Trees RPI climbs to 53 with the W. Keep on trucking, ISUb.

According to RPI Wizard, ISUb can lose 1 more game the rest of the way and finish Top 50. This of course isn't taking into account the Valley tournament. They need to hope for games against SWOMO, UNI, and/or ISUr.
