Intellectuals should leave to the LCD's in society putting any stock into what the shallow end of the gene pool (the media) mindlessly flocks to.

Kaboom! joins the end of the line of WuShock, Ace Purple, and the Saluki as the most unique conference of mascots in the country. The media can take their cookie-cutter preferences and shove them up their ass.

Of course nobody outside Peoria is going to understand the Snell reference in the name, and without that understanding it just seems corny.

I do like the costume design though. I think they struck the perfect balance between being too Disney like and too scary for the kids. It's easy to tear down new things and snark sells (Did anyone really expect earnest praise from Keith Olbermann?) but BU "bravely" stuck its neck out here and I'm glad they did.

Same goes for the gargoyle reference! The national media tearing the idea apart seem to have no idea where the idea even came from. Great work journalists!

I think its more due to the fact that you are the bradley braves with a gargoyle mascot. Why not drop the braves? if you want to have a different mascot. Obviously they don't have a brave mascot because it isn't politically correct. Why not just go the whole way and just be the bradley gargoyles, i think that would make more sense.

In what universe do mascots and team names have to match? Sure as hell not here in reality world.

I do think we got a bit too cute with the name, but I'm all for the actual mascot. Thanks for the free exposure, ESPN.

Indiana State and Loyola don't have matching nicknames and mascots either. Have you b!tched at them too?

Or Army. Or WKU. Or Miami (FL). Or Tulane. Or Xavier, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Alabama, St. John's, or Akron, Siena and Western Illinois?

I'm sure there are many, many more.
