Ranking MVC Mascots

Postby Sir Sci » February 28th, 2014, 9:05 am

Every once and a while I come on here to make a shameless plug for one of my blog articles. This is one of those times.

Essentially, now that Bradley has a mascot, every team has a mascot for the first time since before the 1990s. So, I did what any sports fan does, and tried to rank the teams.

Now, please keep in mind that I tried to do this as objectively as possible. For example, as a MSU fan, my favorite mascot is Boomer the Bear. However, on this list he falls to #8 in the Valley (for the most part because a Bear isn't a unique mascot).

So, if you're interested, check out the article and maybe get into a fight about it.

"Bradley’s announcer also yells "Kaboom" after each 3 point attempt, so the name is also a nice tribute."

Not quite. It's after each dunk, not 3 point attempt.

Someone is thinking of the legendary Gary Rima, voice of the UNI Panthers.

ALI FOR 3...KABOOM!!

I appreciate it. I corrected the story, my mistake.

One thing to add to your article/rankings....Drake did have a live mascot until he died a few months ago. He had 3,699 followers on twitter. https://twitter.com/DUPorterhouse I'm guessing there will be a new live mascot next season.

I'm really sorry to hear that. See, I had thought that Drake had a live mascot, but I couldn't find anything that talked about one, official or otherwise.

What are the three most unoriginal mascots in the Valley, Alex?
