Surprised I haven't seen this on here yet. As of yesterday, the MVC-exclusive channel (and 14 other channels launched by ESPN) should be live on Apple TV and Roku devices. I don't have one to test it myself ... but I'll be picking one up now.

The question I have is ... what will this actually turn into in the future? Is it just a new menu format for showing what WatchESPN already covers? Will it turn into WatchESPN showing all MVC games, MVC-exclusive content, past MVC games, etc.? How much competence will ESPN actually put into their boast of "branded destinations for live events and on-demand video" by conference?

I can imagine great things for this if ESPN is willing to dedicate money and resources to making this successful. I can also imagine this being just a new menu if they aren't.

That's interesting. We've had a roku box for some time now. The "watch espn app" is fairly new. But the last time the Bears were on espn3 I used it to watch the game and it worked great.

I hope this is a serious venture. It would be nice to have the opportunity to see more Valley games.

Watchespn is great! You can watch games on your TV, PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. I often turn on games on my iPad while the family is watching TV. With the advent of DVR, TV advertising is having trouble reaching viewers, however live sports are the exception. I think on demand viewing via Internet connections is the future of television, so hopefully ESPN is able to push some sponsorship onto their Watchespn channels. If they are, there will certainly be some residual benefits.
