So a 5-6 Tulsa team has beaten the #2 Valley team already (MSU) and damn near beat our best team too? This will be a great conference season no doubt.

Good win, Shocks......any time you play a game like this, emotions are high on both sides, its a home game but not on your home court, you cant really worry about style points. Just take the win and move on. Btw, Tulsa cant always shoot like that, can they???

Two freaks went off and had the game of their lives and they still fell short. The WSU defense was bad early, giving them a lot of open looks. However, these guys were burying 22-foot contested shots like they were playing for the Lakers. Credit to them. I think they were pumped for the game and atmosphere.

That definitely was not the same Tulsa team I've been following on channelsurfing for the last month.

Glad to escape with the win and not be pissed on Christmas.

Great crowd and atmosphere for an NBA-type arena.

No cut intended on the Koch, but the Shocker fans are going to like the feel of plush seating with a Bud Light in their hand. If you couple that with a large profit the Koch could be the new volleyball headquarters.

Wow. Just wow. With all that luxury surrounding you at an NBA-type arena, I can fully understand why Creighton has done so well in the NCAA Tournament. They are used to playing in that atmosphere and it really pays off for them.

It was actually a great game. It reminded me of the intense WSU-Tulsa games from the 1980s. I think the large crowd and electric atmosphere helped Tulsa more than WSU.

WSU is used to playing in a sold out atmosphere while this Tulsa team usually plays in a mostly empty arena these days.

This was the kind of game where somebody makes a "when your opponent shoots like that - you lose" post and no one disagrees. Unbelievable shooting and always hottest at critical times in the game.

Stutz was nails. He was doing everything when WSU needed someone to do something. He only got credit for 4 boards, but he was involved in a lot more that WSU got, but he wasn't the last guy to touch the ball who grabbed it and got credit for the board. 20 points (10 from the line) and he was going strong to the basket.
Crappy scoreboard at IBA has great resolution on the video screen, but past that, it has points, team fouls, time outs remaining, and possession - that's it. No running stats, no roster of who's playing. I think Kyles had at least 9 of WSU's first 11 points.

I think WSU wins by 10 at CKAA.

This was "officially" a neutral game, so the ugly W is a bit better for RPI purposes than a home W.

That makes two tough games - and tw oppoenents who appear to have played their best games of the season against WSU. That's a decent warmup for Valley play.

The media began reporting it as a sell out on Monday. It holds 15,004 for basketball but they announced the attendance as 14,112. I don't know if the difference was no shows, or if the media jumped the gun on reporting a sell out. In fact channel 12 was still saying it was sold out on the 10pm news AFTER the game:

I do know several people who didn't bother to go because they thought it was sold out.

By my count Kyles had 14 of our first 16 points. And that took less than 5 minutes to accumulate.
