I say the Shockers are a well rounded team that plays well together and has all the pieces and parts to compete against all types of opponents. What say you?
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

Combo of both. Valley has talent but it is young. Shox have Final 4 experience and confidence like no other due to that.

I agree. I think both sides of the divide moved in opposite direction. That divide should narrow a bit next year. Hopefully it will only be one side (the rest of the league) closing toward the other.

I think there was a point against Gonzaga with about five minutes to play where everything changed mentally for the Shockers, and they haven't looked back since.

We came into the conference play with something like five non-WSU teams in the top 100 RPI ... IlSU, UNI, MoSt, Drake, and ISUb. I think the conference is down, but not by that much.

RPI wise, if you simply sub out Loyola for Creighton, the MVC RPI comes out to 0.535, or 9th in the country behind the AAC. Considering the AAC/Big East split this year, that would be right about normal for us.

I think you could see this coming with the steady improvement with Marshall as a coach. Knowing how and where to get very competitive recruits, finishing games, winning consistently, managing substitutions.
Marshall has come a long way thus has the team, and fan base, almost growing constantly.
Good for the Valley, the school, city of Wichita, fans of Wichita State and basketball fans in general.
What an accomplishment.

WSU benefits greatly from having 2-3 assistant coaches who have already been head coaches. Jans is a master at game prep. Greg Haeir and Steve Forbes are big-time. Even the student managers are awesome. One of them has been contacted by several blueblood programs and has stayed put.

Let's see the Shox have:

2 probable NBA draft picks in Early and Baker
The best defensive player in the conference and possibly the country in Cotton
One of the top 5 (possibly the best) PG's in the country
The best coach in the Valley by a wide margin

The Shockers are just that good.

MVC teams need to just start hiring Marshall's assistants.

And picking up their former recruits.

Also an excellent plan. I expect IlSU to be a good team next year.
