Marquette was paying Buzz Williams was making $2.8 million a year and I would not be surprised if they offered Marshall more money. Turning down TWICE as much as you currently make, would be pretty rough to do.

I don't think you have ever uttered a sentence about Marshall or WSU that was even close to being right.

Well, looks like I got this statement correct....."Enjoy your loss to Kentucky, D-bag."

Really? Wow.

Doesn't surprise me. He's a self-hating mid-major fan.

Both Wake and Marquette are capable of offering 3mill+ to Marshall.

I would think WSU could give Marshall 2.5 mill. Quite frankly, depends on if the Koch Brothers want to get involved.

If there was the slightest possibility of Marshall leaving, Jans wouldn't have taken the Bowling Green job.

Not worth talking about.

IMHO I don't think Marshall leaves while Fred and Ron are here at least. He has said a million times how easy they make his job. He has said that the thing he values most is the type of kids he gets to coach and their characters.

I think as long as Ron and Fred are here this team can accomplish about anything. Marshall is gonna ride that one as far as he can.

Unless Indiana, Kentucky, Duke or Kansas comes calling before then.

Would you really want Jans as a head coach? Seems like a risky hire when WSU could obviously attract much better options. If Marquette or Wake offer 3 I think Gregg would have to take it. Wichita might try to match but I'm not sure they would.

I think Jans would be at the top of the list. I'm sure they would look around as well, but he's a long time assistant, would carry on Marshall's system exactly, continue on his recruiting, and so on. Unless a great option opened up, Jans would have he inside track on the job, I'm sure. Just like Brad Stevens and Josh Pastner had the inside track on Butler and Memphis, and so on.

Marshall has had other opportunities to get paid. He'll have better ones than those two. I'd bet anything he's not interested in Wake or Marquette. He won't leave while FVV and Baker are here. I'm slightly concerned he'll leave when they graduate.

Jans is on the short list to replace HCGM. Forbes probably is as well. I would think we would test the waters first.

Jans is in the same position as Tad Boyle during Turgeon reign. Everybody thought Boyle would be HC somewhere. He asked Schaus if Turgeon left if he would be in the running for the job - Schaus said no, told him the WSU program is much bigger program and could not hire an unproven assistant. Jans is/was in the same position. He would not be hired if Marshall left IMO.

Now if he does well at Bowling Green it might be a different story.
