Baker is about at the ideal talent spot for a D1 BB player. Right around the top end of the talent that will stick around 4 years and graduate. VanVleet seems to be in the same category.

I think VanVleet will at least get some solid looks from the NBA. His BBIQ and ball handling are pretty much of the charts. He made some passes against UK that not many PG's even see - let alone find a way to get the ball there.

I love Ron Baker. Love him.

But Kyle Korver is one of the best shooters to ever play the game of basketball at the highest level. Let's not get carried away.

Baker might see some NBA run but not yet. He has some improving to do.

Agree on both counts. Korver is 6-7 or 6-8 and is paid to shoot the ball. Baker is a good shooter, but at 6-3 or 6-4 will be paid to run the point. He is a mediocre to good PG currently.

Better comparison migh be Toure Murry. Closer to Murry's size, better shooter, equal or better ball handler, slightly less athletic though.

Baker's all around game is far superior to Korver's. He's not ready yet but in a couple of years he very well could be. I love his game too.

Baker has a better shot at the NBA than Van Fleet. Van Fleet will play pro ball overseas and make a good chunk of change. Unfortunately, Does Van Fleet's height and quickness lessen his chances at the NBA level?

If VanVleet was a few inches taller and a bit quicker he could be a lottery pick this year. I am horrible at evaluating NBA talent though, so take that with less than a grain of salt.

I watch the NBA quite a bit particularly once the NCAA's are over. IMO VanVleet's problem at the next level is his lack of size. There have been players that have made it at his size of course but most all of those players had elite level quickness and jumping ability/athleticism. Attributes that VanVleet just doesn't appear to have.

He's a great player though. And has a high BB IQ so you never know.

Wichita should be thankful that he is as short as he is. If he's 6'3 he is probably off to the NBA this year. If not definitely after next season. His size should ensure that he stays all 4 years and by his senior year will probably be the best guard in college basketball.

Fred Van Vleet is a very good to great college PG. I think it ends there for him (other than playing overseas). No shame in that.
