I have been going to St. Louis with a group of friends for over a decade now. They go for the fun of the weekend, none of them are fans of any Valley team but they are all college basketball fans and enjoy going to the basketball games. We'd go to Chicago and Vegas, no chance I'd get them to go to KC. I know the 6 of us have no impact on the decision...but that's our story. I can't help but think that a move to KC would be a short sighted effort to appease the team currently at the top.

If Vegas got it, I'd go every year. That said, I don't think it's the best thing for the conference.

I think it probably should stay in St. Louis.

If it moves, it is going to Chicago. That is a foregone conclusion; the I's would support it and they have strength in numbers.

I think there are similar cbb fans near KC that would do the same thing if it were closer. KC is considered one of the top 10 "event" cities in the US.

How about Moline, Illinois (Quad Cities).? Smaller arena but still pack the place and a good central location.

Was that a serious suggestion?

St. Charles would actually make some sense. Tickets are so cheaply available at Scottrade that there's no demand or need to buy in advance. I wouldn't be surprised if the arena could be 75% empty for certain session in future years.

Yes, nothing shouts out "Big Time" basketball like a television announcer introducing the MVC Championship broadcast with "Welcome to The Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in Beautiful downtown Moline I'll. or St. Charles Missouri.

I'd probably not make the trip to Vegas.

There is daily nonstop service from Vegas to StL and Indy on Southwest Airlines. Price for such a trip is $500 from StL and $400 from Indy. That airfare alone is more than what I paid for my entire StL trip this year.

A flight to Vegas from Wichita is cheaper than my hotel in STL and I get free hotels in Vegas.

Let's do it
