You definitely are more cynical than most people. i don't argue that illegal things happen with recruiting (I would think mainly from a booster standpoint), and some programs are just down right dirty. But I think that our athletic department (both coaches and administrators) tries very hard to run a clean program. Our baseball coach just self reported some minor violations and it resulted in players being suspended from games during the season (not a good way to begin a season).
Maybe Lubbers Service Center provided Armstead with extra favors that no one else knows about, but if our athletic department found out about them, I believe that we would self report. I have no doubt that Armstead missed practices to go to work so that his loans would be limited. IMO Our newspaper is pretty aggressive and if they got wind about illegal activities, they would not keep them quiet.
Bradley may be a different story. You would know that better than I would.
