We never had a shot to be competitive in baseball and decided to stop pissing money away on it. Geography says we chose wrestling and we only finished undefeated and ranked in the top 10 in that. Its a niche sport, just like college baseball.

We also didn't have an ego maniac hotel mogul who loved to have his name on things build us an arena. Ours at least has had locker rooms from the beginning and is full when we draw the same number of fans. Nothing like putting 4000 people in an 11000 seat building. Great atmosphere.

Just keep dumping money into football facilities and don't worry about the product on the field. You didn't fire TA because you didn't have the extra 108k to pay him off...

Our terrible football product finished 2 games ahead in the MVC standings of that team that plays in the UNI-DUMP last year, so you better worry about your own product. And while we currently aren't drawing what we can and will in the JQH, consider these two points; you could sell your place out nightly and it still wouldn't average what our WBB program did for about 10 years running, and last year when WSU came to town and we packed 11,000 plus into JQH, that represents the type of basketball atmosphere you'll never experience with your 5,000 or less fans doing the funky monkey in your junior college arena. You build for potential and then try to reach it, unfortunately you chose a really low ceiling.

And the only reason I even comment about this is because you have a delusional fan who keeps taking shots at MSU as if he represents some power institute. I believe it was only a couple years ago your state legislature was looking at cutting your funding and relegating your entire program back to D-2 status, so I'd keep a level of humility before I went out dissing other programs first. I respect what UNI has accomplished and usually have been someone who acknowledges their achievements, but if ya wanna take shots then so be it.

Oh and those locker rooms, you'd love to have anything close . Even the ones that were always there but simply connected via the adjoining HSC were better than most. But the finished product ......... well enjoy your little arena.

MSU finished below .500...again...for the 48th time in the programs 102 year history. UNI finished with more wins and beat the s*** out of MSU in MSU after plane and weather issues caused the team to get INTO Springfield/the stadium 80 minutes before kick off.

Congrats on showing up for one game last season...and congrats that your women outdraw your men? I guess that's something to be proud of?

MSU football is an embarrassment. Most of our fan base realize that. The rest are delusional.

Basketball is a different story. There we have beautiful facilities, a promising young coach, and quite a few nice young players. In the past we have had good fan support when we are winning. I think the fan support will really pick up over the next 2 years. Kendrix and a healthy Marcus Marshall are the type of dynamic and exciting players that will generate excitement ( and hopefully a lot of W's).

UNI still 2 games back in the standings which I believe is how they determine pecking order.

Wrong again, our women don't out draw our men, they just traditionally have out drawn your men. I counted 2 years since you joined the Valley that you even topped 6,000 in average attendance. Our women did it 14 times; our lowest attendance year for the men would be your 3rd highest . Again I'm not trying to say we're so great, just that we don't have to listen to your drivel when you have nothing to back it up.

And lastly deny it all you want, but the threads don't lie. Anything I've said about UNI came after your comments about MSU.

What "drivel"

I've said, repeatedly and correctly (as have many others) that MSU has shown time and time and time and time again that they are willing to spite basketball (and all other sports) in favor of dressing up the complete dog s*** program that is MSU football to try to attract FBS suitors. If that wasn't the case MSU wouldn't be bottom half (or right at the mid point) of pay for basketball coaches. They would have found a way to put locker rooms in the arena (yeah, that's actually a pretty big screw up and "WTF" issue regardless what MSU fans want to believe). MSU wouldn't be dumping tens of millions of dollars into a new stadium for a program that's finished at, or below .500, just as many times as over .500 while paying their basketball coach middle of the road money. I've said, correctly (as have many others) that is MSU would give up on the idea of football and focus on basketball they could be pretty good. However, MSU has proven time and time and time and time and time again that they are not willing to do that. They are more interested in trying to move from the best FCS conference to an FBS conference that would go .500 (maybe) against their FCS conference while their FCS teams have 22 less scholarships.

Sure, MSU fans will show up when the team wins - that sounds EXACTLY LIKE EVERY OTHER PROGRAM.

What really makes you believe that MSU is fully vested in getting Lusk to 600K plus base or will be able to keep him if he gets courted elsewhere? What has MSU done to prove that? Offering Martin 900k after already knowing he was gone? You know that they did that already knowing that he wasn't going to stay as a "Well look what we were willing to try to do to keep him, fans" PR move, right? The administration had no intention of ever actually paying him 900K.

How can MSU afford to pay a basketball coach that when they can't afford a 108K buy out for a coach that 99.9% of the fan base despises in a lame duck season that is going to completely kill recruiting? You don't think potential recruits don't know that, don't read reports/social media?

The administration at MSU is completely focused on one thing right now - making the FBS stadium look REAL pretty for the Sun Belt. Any improvements that go to other parts of the athletic department as part of the stadium overhaul are just the decorative frosting on the cake (not even the actual cake frosting) for the Sun Belt and keeping the rest of the sports happy.

This is the exact same thing that Texas State did a couple years back when they finally got into the Sun Belt after years of trying.

What MSU is doing is the a near perfect example of cutting off the nose to spite the face.

MSU will trend slightly up for 2, maybe 3 years, then when they can't afford to pay Lusk more than circus peanuts and he moves on they will trend back down.

Talk about drivel. You act like you have some great insight into MSU's future plans but you obviously don't.
