So I guess it will be possible for the city of STL to care even less about the MVC tournament. Has anything come up regarding the bidding from a few months ago yet? Can I still dream about basketball in Vegas?

Vegas is a horrible idea on so many levels, but I would absolutely love it. :buddies:

St. Louis can support more than one conference tournament. Especially on separate weekends. No big deal. Sundeckers that Creighton bar probably needed LSU and Arkansas women to replace the Blue Jay gals that they have now lost.

If things don't improve in this conference soon the 2018 tournament might be in Hutchinson, KS or something so it could be a moot point.

Excuse the Loyola/Chicago homerism here but 2018 could be a good year for the MVC to play the tournament at the United Center. The B1G Tourney rotates every other year between Chicago for odd number years and Indy on even number years, although it's going to Washington in 2017 so I think that might screw up the rotation.

I don't think the St Louis Blues want to get kicked out of their arena 2 straight weekends. It's probably workable, but that's also an Olympic year, but the NHL might not send players. If they do, the compressed schedule and the fact everyone's just returning home in early March might jam things up.

In short, the 2018 arena situation could be a raging mess.

It wouldn't be the worst idea to give Kansas City a trial run in 2018 if we have to. If nothing else, it's a bone that the top dog (Wichita) has earned the right to chew on for a year.

If we do ever go to Chicago, I hope it's not the United Center.

Why not the UC?

If they host it in Chicago, they should just do it at Gentile.

We could never fill it and the neighborhood isn't appealing.

Allstate Arena and/or the new DePaul Arena being built on the near south side would seem like better options for us.
