It's funny how the entire theme of the article is that this is the Era of Impatience, and Coach K came from a time where coaches were given more time to prove their worth and yadda yadda yadda.
And then every example they give of a coach being fired early was given four years, and Coach K went 24-10 and made the NCAA tournament in his fourth year.
That argument makes no sense. Maybe Coach K would have been fired after year four if he had been as bad as the example coaches listed had been. There's no comparison there unless you're using examples of coaches who had been fired after their third year, which was the point where Coach K hadn't proven himself yet.
