Against a bigger lineup, the Shox out-score New Mexico State 50-12 in the paint. 71-54 was the final margin, though WSU led by 24 in the 2nd half. Tekele Cotton led the scoring with 20. VanVleet tied a school record with 7 steals. Shaq Morris was a surprise with 12 points.

Watched the first half, Shox defense looked really good getting in passing lanes and converting turnovers for points. Not really sure what nmsu was doin on offense they looked clueless with 3 guys just standing around but most of that was probably because of the defense pressure and environment. Could've been a lot worse if the shox were hitting outside jumpers

I got a kick out of listening to the X-Man during the broadcast, saying NM State used to be competitive back in the day at thier place but not in Wichita, which was probably very true.

This Nurger looks like he could be tough to handle down the road.

Nurger will have his ups and downs this year, but there is a point in the not too distant future where he and Kelly will be beasts.
