Marshall has a pulled quad. He will probably be good to go by tomorrow. Our problem is that we are also missing Gavin Thurman AND Ron Mviouka to nagging injuries as well. Those three are a huge part of our offense so if Ruder is off, we are screwed.

The thing with Marshall is not that he's just one player who is averaging 26 pst per game, but that he changes everything when he is playing because teams really key on him usually leaving someone else open.

There's no doubt that we're a work in progress right now but we really need to get healthy and get our best players on the floor as a unit to see where we're truly at.

Will MSU be the only Valley team to score 50 points today?

if ISU hits ANY FG's today we win this game, 16-49 from the field, that's IT, Gant and Smith 4-23 from the field, and 0-10 from 3, just dreadful. The fight for 6-10th in the MVC is going to be just epically bad

your final Memphis wins handily 72-62

but hey, we won the 2nd half 40-32

Not sure what to think about the Bradley vs. TCU game. TCU is now 6-0 but Bradley made a couple of runs to keep thing close in the 2nd half. So many head scratching turnovers and too many missed free throws, and the bigs are struggling offensively and can't seem to contest a shot without fouling.

The good news is Bradley looks better than they were the first couple of games. The bad news is Bradley has now lost 28 consecutive games west of the Mississippi River.

If SLU continues getting whooped by Miss St tonight, it will be Bradley vs. SLU tomorrow afternoon.

WSU's non-con schedule is slowly going down in flames. Neither Memphis nor SLU are looking like quality games. Better than New Jersey Institute of Technology, but not the quality of games that were expected when the games were scheduled.

Eh, SLU was picked 9th in the preseason A-10 poll so I wouldn't call them a disappointment. Probably performing about as expected.

Memphis losing to Baylor was unsurprising. They now have 9 straight at home and should round into top 50 form.

Nebraska was a minor upset victim @ URI. That was too bad. Otherwise, no duds there.

Alabama is outperforming expectations with wins against Southern Miss and Arizona State so far.

Utah is playing to expectations, no losses other than @ San Diego State thus far.

Seton Hall is better than most expected so far.

Our OOC SOS is projected to be 16 by RPI Forecast at the moment. Most seemed to expect it to fall anywhere from 8 to 20 before the season started. It's tracking fine.

I was Barruh's biggest critic back in the day, but it's official: Lusk is the worst Bears' coach since before Spoon. (Was that Cleeland maybe?) His recruiting is abysmal and doesn't get any better next year. One of our recruits is a Bruce Marshall clone. The players we do have aren't getting any better. If not for lucking into a Power 5-level player in Marshall, we would win about 10 games this year. He absolutely refuses to recruit any size and athleticism. Lusk got an extension through 2019 and will be here every minute of that contract because MSU refuses to be proactive with coaching changes.

And just think, some of our fans on our team's message board wanted to hire Lusk back in 2008 when we hired Cuonzo Martin.

Sounds like they were right to think that way. Had he been hired in 08, his contract would be up at the end of next year and you could move on!

I don't think the problem is recruiting. The problem is development. There simply isn't anyone who gets better than they were as Frosh. Kirk, Dorian, Gavin, etc. look like the same player they were when they arrived. Those are just the examples that have more than 2 years of "development" under their belts. Add the insistance on playing every player every game and you get very undefined roles.

that is a problem with recruitment - u have recruited people who were already at their ceiling.
