I'm not knocking them, but is Richmond their best win? Beat VCU and split with Iowa and Denver and I'm on board. I would be surprised to find out that more than a handful of Panther fans think they are 1 of the 25 best teams in the country, at least right now.
Ummmm, @SFA. They only won 30 game. Last year and had won 34 straight at home.
We're deserving.
Not to mention, UNI has beaten a BIG 10, ACC, and A10 team.
Think they're well deserving to be ranked.
Wanna go that route...really?
Who, then has SHOX beaten to ranked 8th?
Shouldn't be questioning any rankings that The VALLEY can get, no matter what school.
Nothing between UNI and WSU means anything until Jan. 31.
Should be happy for them and proud of the conference.

UNI is undefeated, hammered VT, hammered NW, beat probable tourney team Richmond, and ended one of the longest home court winning streaks in the country. We havent played Duke or Kentucky, but short of that, it's about as impressive of a resume as a team like UNI can put together in the first two weeks of a basketball season.
Okay, Pantherfan has been riled so let's analyze for a moment. All I said was that I didn't think UNI had done anything to deserve inclusion in the top 25 except win a lot of games, and they have played more than the average team so far. I didn't say they were a 200ish team at all. Top 25 is elite not just really, really good folks. I also said take 2 of the next 3 and I'm on board (suggesting that Mason is a done deal). I speculated Richmond was the best win...is that way off base?
First, can we agree North Dakota is terrible? There only win is over Alabama State and a non D1 school I won't look up. SFA was a nice win sure but SFA was hammered by both Baylor and Xavier admittedly neither at home like the UNI game. But it's certainly not the same SFA team as last year's 47 RPI team (or even close). Morgan State is bloody awful. Save a buzzer beat against Liberty and MSU is O-fer this year. North Florida is terrible too. Awful South Carolina beat them by 25.
So that's 4-0 against 3 pitiful probably near 300 RPI teams and one good solid win against a borderline top 100 team at best.
Now the red meat....Virginia Tech is picked 15th, dead last, in the ACC and it was near unanimous. Personally I think they're better than that and give UNI more credit for a 20 point win here but still, it's a bottom 1/4 ACC team. Northwestern is BAD. They're picked 13 out of 14 B10 teams and that's generous. They are not good at all. And whoever said Richmond is a probable tourney team is a heavy spray paint user. Picked 5th in a down A10 they are NOT getting an at large.
Now where in there is evidence the team (that was .500 last year) belongs amongst the best 25 teams in college basketball right now?
And in all seriousness, do you really think UNI is a better team right now than Connecticut, Oklahoma St, Providence, Virginia Commonwealth, Syracuse, Florida, Baylor for starters? These are all teams ranked behind UNI right now too.
Yes winning matters, and UNI has done all they can, but they haven't done much to prove anything beyond that they are better than the worst 200 or so teams. And all I did was assert that it's not enough, YET, to be considered top 25.
And to the other fan, I am happy they are winning and getting recognized because it IS good for the conference. BUT don't start questioning WSU being ranked, that makes you look beyond stupid.
