And the next year on the cusp, more likely NIT, but capable of making a run in St. Louis. Once or twice in that decade a sweet-sixteen or deeper run, and once or twice in that decade a real rebuilding year, potentially even a losing season (hasn't happened since 2002-03).

Five years ago I would have been very content if that was WSU's future.

It would be nice if the Valley could get one more team to that level so that we have three potential NCAA tournament teams each year.

If we could just clone Jacobsen! To me it all comes down to coaching. Jacobsen is a quality coach that seems to like the MVC and is seemingly uninterested in moving up. There are probably several MVC schools that would pay what he (Jacobsen) makes for similar results. Meaning no disrespect to Marshall but none of the Valley schools could afford him.

rpi is 9th, ranked 16th, probably going to 4th straight ncaa, have an espn 4 star, a rivals 4 star, and a former beaker 4 star coming in next year along with a solid prep 3 star guard. 3-4 freshman contribute on a game by game basis this year and have a chance to be very good players when it's said and done. Ron just may be back again next year.

This team is missing some pieces for sure but they are still 2-2 against top 50 and only losses are to top 50, one on the road in overtime and one lost in the last 5 minutes in Hawaii. Funny if this season was your teams season you would be beating your chest....when it's WSU it's just terrible?

I see shots taken when WSU barely beats Alabama or loses at Utah at Utah in OT. In contrast when UNI needs overtime to beat a terrible GMU at home or loses to VCU on the road it's really good thing. I'm not saying UNI isn't really good this season, I'm just saying there appears to be some real hatred of WSU that has some of you seeing things that aren't really there.

BTW Hawaii beat Nebraska and Colorado in that same tournament. Not good teams by any stretch but solid teams none the less. So to act like beating Hawaii is a pile of trash WSU should have disposed of in beat down fashion on their home court is funny in itself.

I sure hope that the Shockers can stay away from Thursday.

At what point does the seat start warming up for Gregg?

I know that you are provoking comment but I'll take a stab at it. With a 1.8 million contract for 10 years, probably not soon unless he does something to severely piss off Charles Koch. :)

Was that snappy enough?

I was actually just being sarcastic to complement your "Thursday night" comment. People are grasping at straws in this thread

Completely agree. We didn't hit the panic button until it was too late. Played right into Marty's hand after creating a successful game plan in the 1st half.

Even though my reply was truthful, I was having a little fun myself.
