Discuss the MVC hoops season here.

Evansville came out with a better plan in the second half and we missed open shots we didn't miss all season.

Our all time best team lost at Evansville so I am not too concerned about this game. One game out of 18 against a team that had won 10 in the non-conference at their place. Nothing to be too worried about. Now had this been a loss to Drake, Bradley or ISUb I might be more concerned.

Hopefully they are ready for LUC when they come to town on Sunday.

Good win Aces. Aces do play the spoiler but it is a role we all love our teams to play. It sucks for the Valley but also underscores the importance of taking care of business. The Valley is a tough place to play, especially on the road. A road win in the Valley is a good win, no matter how ugly it may have been. Congratulations Aces.

Go Valley!

Go Shocks!!

It was weird. UE kept putting players other than Mockevicius on Tuttle. Seemed like Simmons got the call a lot of the time.

Tuttle had more points, Mockevicius had more rebounds. Both modified a bunch of shots down low.

Wow i can't see Simmons guarding Tuttle? Seems like UNI could have really exploited that?

Looking at Evansville season stats it looks like Simmons is playing well? I was critical of him last year but it looks like hes stepped up his game. Still dont see him being a post defender though.

I think Coach Simmons was trying to keep EMO outta foul trouble by switching up Blake and Mislav against Tuttle, with EMO.
Tuttle uses many NBA moves, the forearm push off, lowering shoulder and hook around slide by. EMO, would try to be as physical and not being the marquee player get the quick calls.
Using Mislav and Blake kept EMO, in the game for 35 mins. I think even Benzon picked him up a few times.

I get that EU loves playing the roll of spoiler and it's often the highlight of their entire season, but do EU fans realize how damaging they've been to the MVC the past five years?

This is funny and somewhat pathetic. You lost a close game to the projected 3rd place team on their home floor. Relax Skippy. Nobody outside of WSU can claim any distance from the rest of the league. Prior to 2010, UNI was irrelevant and from what I saw with your team outside of the seniors, next year you will be battling to stay out of Thursday night, with the rest of the league worrying about getting UNI'd in front of 2,000 of your finest in that neat little gym up there.

I still remember being at a game when the Aces had a 21 point lead on UNI and UNI beat us.

Point:
You have to wonder how much NCAA Tourney revenue UE has cost the Valley over the years.

Counter-point:
Going for two, down three with under 5 seconds to go, on the road? What are you thinking? Shaving points or something?

It was a terrible decision by Wes. I'm not sure what he was thinking.

I still stand by my point this was a terrible loss and will be treated as such by the AP voters. EU is not a good team and UNI will be penalized heavily in the polls losing to them. These are the types of losses that at the very least cost the MVC valuable seeding and at the most multiple tourney bids. Hopefully EU doesn't crap the bed the rest of conference play and transform into the team we are all familiar with.

Congratulations Evansville. You have a nice team with good talent. It doesn't surprise me in the least that you won this game because your talent is usually that good and our league is difficult to win, especially on the road. The only reason that I (marginally) hoped for UNI to win was because I have a lot of respect for how they schedule in the non-con and their RPI is a result of that scheduling. They help our other league teams while some league teams drag us down with high RPI's. Again, Congratulations.

UNi on the other hand, may have found out that it is a little more difficult to win with a target on their back.

To a fun Valley season for all and hoping that we end up with multiple (2-3) bids in the NCAA this March and of course that the Shockers are one of them. With the strong non-con showing from LUC, UNI, and the Shockers, it may be a good possibility.

For as big as Mock is he sure gets absolutely "thrown around" by guys much smaller than him who don't put a lot of actual effort into tossing him 5 feet.

Kudos to him for going to the Vladi Divac school of selling a finger touching you sending you 3 rows deep and getting it down to the point it gets you calls.

Also that last foul on Tuttle was extremely weak...

Kudos to Evansville for showing UNI that they can't f*** around in the second half with a decent sized half time lead.
