I do not believe N.I.U. will fall too far. Yeah you might not be Top 25 next week, but you will still be one of the top 5 receiving votes. 2 or 3 wins and you are right back up there.

Kudos to him for going to the Vladi Divac school of selling a finger touching you sending you 3 rows deep and getting it down to the point it gets you calls.

Also that last foul on Tuttle was extremely weak...

Kudos to Evansville for showing UNI that they can't f*** around in the second half with a decent sized half time lead.

The last foul on Tuttle was long overdue, used the chicken wing every time he posted up Big E. There was a charge missed on him about the 5 minute mark when he dropped his shoulder and threw an elbow in E's chest.

I don't remember Simmons guarding Tuttle. The only time Mislav had Tuttle was when Nate Buss wasn't in the game.

The key was UNI allowing penetration in the second half.

You are the master of your own fate. You crybaby fans that keep complaining about your team losing to a so-called "lesser" team is absolutely comical. You can mark it down right this moment before the season gets up a head of steam that teams like Loyola, Indiana State, Sou Illinois & Bradley are going to muck up the standings as much as they possibly can and none of them will be going anywhere in the post-season. Do you expect them to roll over and give anything less than their best effort against everyone of your so-call "contender"" teams? Well save yourself some concern about "they might ruin our season" to "yes they will ruin your season if your leave a crack in the door."

Enjoy the run for the roses in 2015 !

The better team on Thursday night? Evansville. Congrats to them on a win that was well earned.

The better team with the stronger resume heading into Arch? Only time will tell, but I'm keeping my chips with the Panthers. They took a hit in the chops to UE, but a strong response in the next week can and will restore that confidence that was lacking in the second half.

Nobody expects anyone to roll over. What we expect is that ALL teams play up to their potential in the non-con so that when a team mucks it up it's not a killer (UE beating UNI doesn't do that). Evansville is a good team. They did just fine by their schedule, but their schedule just wasn't legit. Not sure if UE should be faulted for scheduling so poorly, or praised for bringing a top 100 team to conference play.

Everyone seems to be talking about this being a hit on UNI's position which is true. But this is also a very good win for Evansville's Resume! They are now 11-2 with their 2 losses being by a combined 4 points. They may start to creep up in the picture now. I'm no bracketologist and they have a bad SOS but let's give them a little more credit on a very nice win

Congrats to the Aces, they certainly came out prepared for the 2nd half. I was a little nervous the whole game because UNI kept missing opportunities to stretch that lead beyond reach. Mock is a beast and obviously the only player even close to Tuttle but I hesitate to say he is better. Tuttle still has the superior skill set, we saw hat yesterday as Tuttle was able to beat the Aces even when they put 3 or 4 bodies in the paint to keep him from driving or being fed down low.

Anyways it's the difference between a Lamborghini and a Ferrari at this point. The only exception I take to any of this debate is that Tuttle is lesser because he's "dirty". I'm not sure what he does that makes him dirty, I've never heard that moniker for him in 4 years until today. Those post moves are things that are used by 90% of big men in basketball. Heck even Mock uses the little back shove. When you extend the arm, sure, that's an offense and a foul but neither guy use it beyond a mini-space clearer. If you're gonna take shots at Tuttle for some small shoves how can you look past Mock for his theatrics on contact? Even the MVC commentators on ESPN3 made a "he's been nominated for the Academy Award, and he's been rejected" after he went sprawling to the floor despite almost no contact. That's my only beef, you can't criticize one player for his supposed "dirty" play of manipulating some code of play, but then completely ignore his peer's similar, yet different style. Pick one fellas, either their both imperfect in this regard or neither of them are. I'm not sure how you could watch last nights game and take away that Edge is an angel and Seth is a demon.

With that being said, congrats to Evansville for continuing to exceed my expectations. I don't think many teams in the MVC are equipped to take it to the Panthers like they did in the 2nd half. They have certainly made the proper adjustments to their offensive scheme where DJ is not option A-E. That balance will obviously serve them well and who knows perhaps we can have a legitimate 3rd NCAA bid (assuming the other parties take care of business). Things are really looking up for the Aces and it makes the loss a little easier to stomach. This is far from the devastating loss some idiots on this board have claimed it to be. This ruins nothing for the Panthers other than the conference opener. It's not like we thought UNI needed to go undefeated to make the NCAA's. Can't wait for the rematch in Cedar Falls, hopefully this is our only loss going into that next game ;)
[Insert snappy comeback]
