Really? MVC teams crapping themselves in the noncon and then knocking off top teams is the defining characteristic of this conference. There's nothing I see coming easier.

Hell, Drake almost did it to us. And then a few nights later they score 37 against a mediocre MoSt team.

There went any outside-chance-in-hell Evansville had at an at-large bid.

Championz wrote:I'm sorry but this is classic Evansville. If they wanted to prove that win over UNI at home was for real, they should have backed it up against Indiana State a game later. Nope. Typical.

And some Evansville fans constantly whine for the no respect card. This is numero uno why it doesn't happen.

I'd hold back on that considering how ridiculous this conference is.

I still expect us to win @UNI and then drop a real head-scratcher along the way. Drake came close to being one.

Although there is an entertaining aspect to the inevitable humbling that comes to fans of teams that get too excited about a good record against a #263 noncon SOS.

queue acedad on his typical one possession game babble.

Can we start a "Next coach at UE" thread now?

Evansville's last 6 possessions in the last 2 minutes of overtime:

1) Balentine missed a 3-pointer
2) Moore missed 2 throws
3) Turnover - Balentine
4) Brzoja - shot blocked by Gant
5) Moore missed 2 throws
6) Brown missed a 3-pointer

Aces had some opportunities.

Aces had their best 5 on the court with a 7 point lead with under 4 to play in regulation and blew it. Simmons is far from perfect but there's only so much a coach can do. At the end of the game your best need to close the game out. INSt's did, UE's didn't. Congrats INSt on the victory

OT wasn't where The ACES lost this game.
Game should have never gotten that far. Last three minutes of regulation, after Mislav's three, The ACES went without a FG.
TREES took care of business, at home. It's what you have to do in the conference season.
ACES lost.
It sux, but as I said on a previous thread before,..."The ACES may go up to Terre Haute, this afternoon and lay an egg, on that image of The State of Indiana, at mid-court. It's what The ACES tend to do....And, as an ACES fan, I accept that"...

go aces

It's highly possible that the team that wins the conference will not go undefeated, but until the Shockers lose one, it still could happen.

Yes, true that.
But, TREES, RAMBLERS, & daBEARS are all also undefeated, at this time as well. ;)

Caught the last half of the UNI Loyola game. Thought UNI looked good. Tuttle really looks confident. And Singleton looked like a beast at times.
