Well, a buzzer beater takes down the home-standing ACES . Ramblers hung in a beat a pretty good team--
Only thing I will say at this point is that the RAMBLERS have no idea how short they are--Playing at least nine really helps. Gosh , its great to have our guys playing in a REAL League and a good one too.

Down 3 starters tonight, the Redbirds absolutely dominated Drake. They were up by as many as 43 and played all the way down to their walk-on. Still can't believe that just a few days ago DU gave the Shockers all they could handle at the Knapp center.

Gotta love Valleyball!

Gotta be impressed with Loyola this year.

Gonna be a lot less Evansville fans on here demanding respect after this last week.

The Aces offense is good enough to win games. The defense is the stuff that Thursday night is made of.

Loyola is scary. Take them lightly, and they will hang a loss on you.

Illinois State is quick, athletic, can shoot, and play tough defense. Hope Lynch isn't too injured as I like watching him play. Looked like he really took a couple hard falls at WSU.
Not a good night for the Bulldogs. Hope they turn it around at home Saturday.

Bradley really showed where they are right now as a team against WSU. They played some pretty solid basketball in the 1st half and some pretty terrible ball in the 2nd. I think once Warren Jones is back they will have a much needed offensive piece. Still, it will take a small miracle to stay out of Thursday night. I don't understand this team's inability to make free throws, especially from the guards. It was nice to hang with WSU for a half. On a side note, I'm a little disappointed Marshall found his suit jacket after the game. I was hoping one of the press guys would have kept it as a souvenir after he tossed it.

I try not to trash teams, but I don't know how Bradley fans can ever have optimism or hope about their team this year or for the next several years.

The Bradley team that I saw tonight plays like a lower division team.

This is called the Aces1982 Jinx Effect. He rarely posts, but when he does, karma usually kills him and his team pretty quickly. Looks like it happened tonight.

On the last play of the Loyola-UE game, was the Loyola shot blocked and ended up in the player under the baskets hands, who then put it in? Or was it a jump pass and the guy under the basket put it in? I guess either way it worked for them, just curious.

The UNI-SIU was a bizarre one to watch even if you expected UNI to win comfortably. Took thenPanthers a while to get going and even then they didn't look like the team from the past few games. Not sure if they took SIU lightly and played down to them or what but it was ugly unless your name was Seth Tuttle or Nate Buss. Those two combined for 39 pts on 15-21 shooting. Took the Salukis 44 shots and 13 trips to the charity stripe to hit that same figure. Besides a Marvin Singleton rebound and score in the opening minutes, Tuttle was the only starter to score for the Panthers. The other 4 went 1-13 (0-6) and didn't attempt a free throw. They did chip in for 14 Rebs and 4 assists but tonight it was all about giving it to Seth and Nate.

Anthony Beane made 1 free throw tonight. Aside from a few rebounds and turnovers that's his only stat from 36 mins of play. However Jordan Caroline and Sean O'Brien both looked really nice for SIU. O'Brien can shoot and Caroline and Bola Olaniyan did a good job of getting to the line even when their shots weren't falling. Like BCPanther said in another thread these guys may not all be MVC caliber players but they work hard and don't give up even when they get pushed around. Still, that's a bad team. They did run into a strong Panther defense but the shots were even worse then the shot selection.

Strangest stat of the night: no one listed as a guard for either scored in the first 25+ mins until Wyatt Lohaus knocked down a jumper around the 14:20 mark in the 2nd half. Never heard of something like that.
[Insert snappy comeback]
