MTSU, Belmont, and Murray St are good opponents. They're part of a very good SoS diet. I support that kind of schedule.

However, they need to be the side dish on the SoS. They can't be the main dish. It's like mashed potatoes. Who doesn't like mashed potatoes? It's good food. But you need red meat to go with them.

I agree with this.
I don't disagree that they are decent opponents that are nice enough to have on a home schedule (we had New Mexico St. on our schedule this year) but I would never have bragged about them being on our schedule. It is a given that teams like this are on a schedule. I expect as least low level Power 5 Conference, MWC, AAC, Big East, and opponents from conferences on this level to play at home. This is just my low level expectation. After all, the teams that were mentioned were over a multiple year period, not a one or two year period of time.

I wouldn't mind that schedule at all if every opponent was at that level -- you don't need the "steak" teams just to have them. The problem is when those "mashed potatoes" teams are drastically better than the rest of the schedule.

Perhaps I should amend the red meat part. Common turkey to go with those mashed potatoes is fine too. Anything is fine. You just don't eat mashed potatoes by itself.

And you obviously only eat a couple of cupcakes for dessert. :D

The Indians Have a word for a poor hunter......vegetarian! Last year the Aces were 6-12 club in conference and not good in an OOC games Sometime you need to not have the red meat till you earn the teeth to chew it. This is the year to prove the need for meat and no one help supplied it. UE had a request out for a BIG or top 100 team on schedule.... a buy game.. with no takers. Thus they scheduled the DIII backup team. They took the best they could get.
