Would you let Marty finish the season?

Postby UE-grad » February 3rd, 2015, 8:20 pm

I'd let him go tonight as soon as the bus pulls in the parking lot.
I am sick and tired of unprepared teams.
Teams that regress as the season rolls on.

Nothing changes the game plan is the same.
(except for the three wins in a row when EVERYONE GOT MINUTES)
Why revert back?

Personally, I wouldn't let him get on the bus. He can find his own way home from Normal. With that said, I would imagine you are stuck with Martyball at least through next season. That pathetic non-con will assure him of a winning season and probably a crap post-season tournament.

There's some talent there, can you imagine what Marshall or even Lansing could do with that team?

They let him finish the last 4-5 seasons, so I dont know why this one would be different.

Did I hear right that Marty and Mock got into it on the sideline?

New AD arrived in August.

Team will likely win 20 games and was picked to finish 4th in The Valley. Both will be a stretch if they give similar performances as tonight.

I was at the game. Is Mock your post player #55? If so, he deserved Marty getting in his face. His play was on the verge of being pathetic.

That's apparently been a problem for Marty as long as he's been at UE. Post players are used as screeners and always play second fiddle to whoever Marty has for a perimeter shooter.

Respect is a 2-way street. Marty doesn't seem to show any level of confidence in his front court players. It seems he's had most of them transfer out after a year or two.

I haven't watched enough UE games to be able to say whether there are plays set up to capitalize on Mock's skills. From what I've seen previously, I thought Mock was in a position to challenge Tuttle for the best post player in the league.

If Marty isn't trusting Mock's on-court abilities and asking him to mainly set screens for perimeter players, then I wouldn't blame Mock for not showing much respect for Marty. It's a 2-way street.

Is Marty at the end of his contract? Or would there be a buyout?

Didn't they give him an extension a year or two ago?
