We shall see. The 2013 runner-up wasn't bad. Of course, if they hadn't been decimated by injuries, probably wouldn't have been the runner-up.

Definitely enjoying 2 teams just going at it. It seems like every game they play not just to win, but to prove a point to their counterpart.

The champ in 2013 had 5 losses, which was more than any champ in like 15 years.

Who cares about the 2013 champ? The question was about runner-up. And the 2013 runner-up went to the Final 4. I'm not saying it's the answer, just throwing out a data point of a very good runner-up team.

That said, still... when was the last time we even ended the regular season with two teams ranked?

Both WSU and UNI have gotten good respect after their losses thus far in regards to rankings. I don't see either team plummeting with if both go undefeated until their matchup, especially if it's UNI losing on the road.

That's a difficult argument to make. The team that went to the Final Four is not the team that finished second in the Valley. The runner-up WSU team wasn't very good.

I whole-heartedly agree if one is willing to make the distinction that those were two different teams, because essentially they were. BUT, it is the exact same argument anyone makes when they claim "we beat the F4 WSU team."

Anyway, I'm hoping both teams make the 2nd weekend this year, which I think is realistic. I also think it's realistic that both teams could make the 2nd weekend with a chance to do additional damage.
