2015 IL St. "player basketball IQ" will never cut an MVC Championship, as they often play out of control, downtown Chicago alley-type hoop void of a "team" concept. This is what choked 'em Saturday late game v. the Shox.

If I was one of the top two teams I definately wouldn't want to play them.

If ISU-r would win the tourney would the committee take all three teams? You would think so.

If UNI keeps up this recent form of play then I don't think there is an MVC team that really scares me. Doesn't mean I think they are invincible, obviously, but I feel confident about the Panthers in every remaining game. WSU is the only one where I think the Panthers can be on their "A" game and still get beat. This includes the tournament and any potential rematches

That's a silly question. WSU and UNI are almost guaranteed to be top 6 seeds at this point, whether they win Arch Madness or not.

If Illinois State (or any other team) won Arch Madness, we'd have three teams, with the tourney winner having a very bad seed.

It is not athleticism or skills, which causes the Red Birds to lose.

Yesterday is pure WANT from WSU that caused it. They wanted the rebounds more and that rebounding advantage and second chance points win them the game.

Redbirds didn't play bad. You can just tell what experience and maturity can do. Whenever WSU wants to take it to another level, they can and when they do they just rely on their experience and know they're going to pull out a tight one on the road. They didn't have their "A" game and I think ISU had some to do with that, but they never looked rattled and just continued to battle out the win.

Side note - glad to see a good hard fought game without extra crap to it. Makes it more fun to watch when it's like that. Hoping that trend continues.

As mentioned by another poster, basketball IQ is what I have in mind.

The Red Birds did some awful dumb things yesterday. An example is the Birds trying to save a ball that the Shockers caused to be headed for out of bounds. On two occasions, the ball tipped off the fingers of a non-thinking Red Bird. Little things like this will get you beat. Another example is one of Lynch's fouls. He looked like a middle linebacker on the play.

No, I am not beating up on the Red Birds. As a Shocker fan, I am glad the Birds play dumb sometimes. The Shocks were very beatable yesterday.

I hate playing ISU particularly on the road or neutral. They are always big, athletic and physical and they really get up for WSU and play tough defense. WSU is well on the way yesterday to a double digit win away and some guy hits two guarded treys from NBA range. Against UNI, they cani't even hit a free throw and blow the win. Just as soon not see them again.

Question of the Day:

What is 0-6? There may be more than one correct answer.

A. Dan Muller's lifetime W/L record against Gregg Marshall.
B. Daishon Kinght's FG shooting against WSU
C. IlSU's W/L record against the top 3 teams in the Valley standings
D. Reggie Lynch's record for finishing games when he picks up his 3rd foul in the 1st half.
