The beauty of this is that we pretty much know the 4 Thursday night teams and we aren't one. :bounce:

So I guess, in this way, Muller was mostly right with his prediction. Maybe we all just misunderstood.

I still think out of these 3 teams the Birds are still the most dangerous. When we played...

@Wichita: Lynch was playing hurt, no DAP or Hawkins
vs UNI: We did not play well other than Hunter or Lee, no Hawkins
@UNI: Didn't do that bad offensively but didn't get off the bus defensively
vs Wichita: Once again we didn't play well

We've only had 3 complete games this year and that was against Old Dominion, @MSU, and vs UE. I feel that we won't lose again in the regular season, and bring that momentum into the Arch win the first two games and hopefully cut down the nets...

0-6 against the top three teams. There's a reason IlSt hasn't played complete games against any of them.

I really hope you say dumb stuff like this as part of an entertaining game for yourself.

Loyola hasn't played well in a lot of their losses. Should really be like 24-2 by my estimation.

3 losses in last 5 seconds of the game we win those everyone's perception is different. No doubt in my mind we beat Indiana state twice if we weren't down Purcell and Hawkins and a banged up Reggie

And ISU won by three at Loyola (without Doyle, after knocking out Christian Thomas with a concussion early in the 2nd half) and with Loyola missing 4 free throws in the final 6 seconds. If you hadn't pulled out the Loyola game (with their top two scorers out) you'd be behind Loyola in sixth place at 6-8. The could-haves, should-haves go both ways.

Actually, that perfectly illustrates something that's been fairly obvious. The 'Birds have not shown an ability to close out close games when they are ahead going into the last part of a game, or to take a game in the last few minutes.

the 'Birds just haven't learned how to win. They can beat teams that have clearly less talent, but against teams that are at or near their talent level, they consistently find a way to lose.

I blame it on the curse of Jackie "Kung Fu" Carmichael. Have the 'Birds won a close game since they blew that 7-point lead in the last 40 seconds?
