I am a huge fan of Loyola. I am hoping they do well. I obviously hope for all teams to get it turned around, but for some reason I have a soft spot for the Ramblers. I really think they are a sleeping giant. They are in a good market with lots of talent. I think they can be a contender in this conference. It might take a new coach as I am not sure if Moser has what it takes, but with Doyle he has the team headed in the right direction. Now if they get some good size to go with him it could be soon.

Lots of people like it rag on Loyola, but we could have done a lot worse with teams to add. I also think it would have been bad to just stay at 9.

We will see. I hope the Ramblers can build something good :Yea!:

Yeah, I don't really think it's fair to bring this all up again either. I think it was just kind of jarring for Panther fans to see the place that empty. Brought back memories of the UNI-Dome during the Sam Weaver era. :o

Evansville didn't struggle when the Panthers played in Evansville.

Sure they did, just not as much as UNI did. Scoring only 51 pts, even if it's against UNI should qualify as struggling (offensively at least). But you're right, one decent half of basketball should be the all-redeeming quality for Evansville. Hey, why don't we extend Marty's contract a could years for that victory alone. Sound good?

And to be clear, I'm glad Evansville kicked our ass in the 2nd half. It's exactly what UNI needed and has helped propel them on this current run. It's been a marginally successful season for the Aces but can be easily argued as an overall disappointment considering how the non-conference went.

One more middling season doesn't make the program a resounding success, however.

Oh now Evansville needs to be a "Resounding Success" in your eyes. First it was "what do they bring?", so
I responded with an example of handing you a loss, which apparently was a good deal for you.
It is a good thing Evansville doesn't need your permission to be in the league.
Good Grief, Jake may be the best coach in the league, but stay in your lane man; UNI gambled on Jake to begin with because they had no history and rarely any fans (that still may be true).
Just thank your lucky stars that you lucked into a great coach, and keep
Your mouth shut so you can hide the fact that you don't know what you are talking about.

Jake was the associate head coach the last year or two under McDermott. He was elevated to that position for a reason, we knew what we were getting. Any hire is a risk, but I don't think there was really even any question that he was the right guy at the time. I think we were all just revealed he didn't follow McDermott to Iowa State.

The whole point is, we are in the same league for a reason, and leave it at that.

So...Iowa State and Texas/OU are in the same league for a reason other than it happened YEARS ago and even though it about changed a couple years ago when Iowa State learned where they really stand in the B12

Geez, it can be embarassing to be a UNI fan at times. We have had some real good success recently and unfortunately, a large portion of our posting fan base comes from this internet/message board era when we have been good. But there was a time before that. A time when we could pack literally hundreds of people in the UNI-Dome to watch our beloved Panthers valiantly fight to .500 records in good years. Hell, we can't even pack the McLeod consistently now.

And some of the UNI fans want to look down on others in the conference? Seriously? I hope they don't get upset when Iowa or Iowa State look down on UNI using many of the same arguments on us as these fans are using on other schools.

The world revolves and so does college basketball. We certainly hope we have stability with Coach Jake, but only have to look at SIU, or Creighton, or Bradley, to know nothing is given.

I have no issue with the Loyola addition, per se. We will see how this has worked out in another 3-5 years. Let Loyola have some time to adjust to the level of competition.

It's not like we just grabbed Indiana, Kentucky or Kansas.
