So...WSU won the MVC championship. Is Tuttle the POY? Is Marshall the COY?

Yup. Marshall is pretty much guaranteed COY, unless the criteria for COY has changed based on his dominance.

Tuttle probably deserves POY straight-up, but FVV/Baker splitting votes would probably be enough to give it to him even if he didn't.

Yes.

Tuttle and Marshall

Washpun 6th Man
Cotton DPOY
Scott FOY
Jesperson should be NCOY, but I doubt he gets it.

Now this I agree with, across the board.

I'm good with most of that. Just not NCOY.

Akoon-Purcell averaged more than double the points, rebounds, assists, and steals. Jesperson had a better shooting % across the board and less TOs. He should make All Newcomer Team, but i just dont see the NCOY from any perspective.

Maybe I'm missing something with Jesperson, but I just don't see it.

Not sure Jespersen makes All Newcomer team either. He is 9th among newcomers (not including freshman) in scoring (5.8 ppg.). Among those same nine, he is also 9th in rebounds (2.3 rpg) and assists (0.3 apg). He is not in the top 50 overall in the MVC in scoring, rebounds, or assists. He is a good player and a great shooter, but probably not worthy of any accolades this year.

For the All New-Comer team, how many games must be played in order to qualify? DAP played in 24. Jones played in 19 and Sutherland in 22.

Tuttle is the POY. FVV and Baker have had great seasons and are worthy, but Tuttle has had the beat season. It would be a shame if he does not win.

Don't necessarily agree with this. Tuttle, VanVleet, and Baker are all worthy of the award. One will win it and deservedly so. Two will not. No shame in NOT winning the award when one of those three outstanding players comes away with the trophy.

For the record, I will be only mildly surprised if Tuttle doesn't win.
