If UNI loses I can already tell you it was the refs fault. They always screw us.

It's an interesting question. If UNI and WSU play for the championship, they will both have great seeds in the NCAA, increasing the odds of a deeper run. If somebody else wins the tournament, they will both have losses, get worse seeds (the winner will likely be a 13+ seed at best), and decrease the odds for deep runs, and thus decreasing the shares.

What would be better? Two sweet sixteen teams in WSU and UNI (meaning 6 games/6 shares) or maybe one sweet sixteen team, one round of 32 and a one and done (6 games, 6 shares).

I was going to say something similar to this earlier. You put it quite a bit better than I was going to though. Honestly, I do think it is better overall for the conference to get 2 high seeds than 3 teams where there is one high, one middle, and one low seed. I think a 3 and a 5 is better than a 5, 8, and 13 or something to that nature.

I honestly don't think there is anything an Evansville or ISU (both) can do to increase the profile of the conference by winning the tourney. You had 30 games to help out and you didn't. Plain and simple. At this point having two Top 12 teams and landing in the 3-5 seed range is about as good as we can hope for. These two teams are head and shoulders above the rest of the league and having another team come in and knock them both off probably does more to hurt the overall reputation. If we had a couple teams hovering around the RPI Top 50-60 then I could maybe understand. ISUr is the next top RPI dog at #77. Then Evansville at #112, Loyola at #131 and ISUb at #178. A loss to just about any of those teams, including the Redbirds would be devastating to the image that WSU and UNI have built up all season long.

I predict SIU runs the table and makes it to the Big Dance.

BTW....anyone know where I can score some LSD in St Louis? I'm running low on my acid supply.

I prefer the RedBird starters versus the RedBird bench in the Sunday game.

After all, we want to absolute best, don't we?

Pretty much my thought on the Valley getting 3 teams. I do believe either WSU or UNI has a legitimate shot to be an Elite 8 team but it will come down to match ups to make this a reality.

Go Valley!

Had lunch with a friend today who will be in St Louis this weekend as will I. I asked him what he expected this weekend from ISUr and he didn't know. I told him that ISUr was capable of winning the whole thing but even more capable of losing by 15 to Evansville on Friday. A Jekyll and Hyde team all season long.

What I really expect is WSU-UNI for the championship on Sunday. I fully anticipate that one will be a lot of fun to watch.
