If ISUr plays smart (big if) then I could see a close game there. They have athletes and size (Lynch) to compete with the Shox.

Despite Loyola being on a roll I just don't see how they can physically compete with UNI. Should be interesting - both games.

WSU currently playing a perfect gameplan on IlSt. Speeding the Redbirds up, forcing them into poor passes and awkward jumpshots, racing downcourt and scoring on easy breakaways thanks to tipped passes.

IlSt currently 1 of 15 with two points between 15:20 and 3:30 of the first half, and shooting 27% overall.

WSU struggled against the zone in the half court. Shockers up 8 at half.

We've always struggled against the zone. I've never understood why more teams don't play it against us.

We're a vastly superior offense against the man and always have been under Marshall.

Fun halftime stats:

FVV & Baker have combined for 19 points, 60% from the field, nine rebounds, two steals, and 7:2 A:TO.

The entire Redbirds team minus Lynch: 20 points, 33% from the field, 10 rebounds, one steal, and 2:6 A:TO.

(Lynch with 2 points, 25% from the field, 6 rebounds, one steal, and a 1:1 A:TO really only impacts the rebounding difference.)

Other fun stats: Illinois State with 7 fouls & 3 FTs, WSU with 6 fouls & 1 FT, yet 80% of people on IlSt forum complaining about officiating bias.

Illinois State erases a 12-point deficit, currently tied. Game seems to have the aura of an impending classic finish.

Lynch goes up for a dunk and Cotton and Baker for the block, and all three flatten each other to the floor and slow to get up. Fans on both sides sound very loud on the broadcast. Ridiculously intense game.

Mark Adams is the Jon Gruden of MVC basketball game broadcasts. He absolutely loves every kid that plays!
