Lansing, even with his 3rd place finish this year seems to have a seat getting warm with a decent number of fans so that may push him out.

If ISUb fans think they can do better than Lansing, they're insane.

They just crowd-funded their uniforms for God sakes.

I realize.

I'm just telling you what I've seen posted online

Heard rumors that IU Hoosiers may go after Marshall.

Would be shocked if they went after Marshall before Smart.

This would be the absolute perfect time to cash in for Shaka, if he's that kind of coach. He turned down offers before but he knew he had a top 25 team coming back.

We've seen VCU without Weber, and it's going to be the same next season.

Eh, he still had a good team this year, and he'll have a good team next year.

I've been wondering if he was waiting for the Wisconsin job to open up. I doubt Bo Ryan plans on coaching too much longer, and he's from Madison. Wisconsin could realistically add $1 mil+ to his salary and give him a strong team with B10 resources in his hometown. Wisconsin gets a proven coach who could be there for the next 30 years.

Honestly, if Muller has a good season next year like an NCAA tourney run I think he will take the biggest paycheck out of town. He strikes me as that type of guy. Of course I could be very very wrong on my assessment of him.

I don't necessarily see Jacobson or Marshall going anywhere. I think they both realize the grass isn't always greener. I mean Jake saw what happened to McDermott at Iowa State. I don't think he wants a repeat of that. Of course it would be interesting to see what kind of offers both Jake and Marshall are getting.

This.

Missouri Valley programs offer something to coaches like Marshall and Jacobson that elite programs increasingly cannot offer. The ability to coach Junior and Senior laden teams. Not everybody wants to be Calipari, and not every coach can make the transition to that kind of coaching like Coach K has done at Duke.

To me, that makes the decision, especially for Marshall, to leave for even one of the true blue blood programs a difficult choice. So the options are to go to an okay Power-5 school with a moderate pay raise and a ton of risk, go to an elite program with a big raise, but where you have to coach in a totally different way, or stay put.

Actually it'll be Marty. He'll take the departure package and go get a DII job where he can run whatever offense he prefers

Do you think he'll take Blake with him if that happens?

Blake would stay because :

1. Marty won't find a job quickly even @DII
2. Marty will want Blake to play DI ball
3. Marty wants Blake receive a diploma from his Alma Mater.

Marty will be at UE for another year at least....
