Loyola will take CBI Bid

An insider with excellent sourcing and accuracy reported this morning that Loyola will play in the CBI. The home or road matchup will be announced Sunday. It's the first postseason tournament appearance of any kind for Loyola since 1985.

Congrats! We sometimes tend to look down on these tournaments, but for improving programs who are post-season starved I think they can be a very good thing.

Loyola will play Rider in the first round game at home on Tuesday.

Then they would face the winner of UC Santa Barbara and Oral Roberts.

Redbirds were in the CBI last year, if nothing else it was fun to attend a couple more games. They sent Texas A&M to Redbird Arena, won't see that any other time.

Shocks spring boarded from the CBI as well. We didn't win it, but the next season we improved to NIT level and it has just grown exponentially from there. It is a good way to improve your program.
