Tourney Talk - Thursday NCAA games

One thing for sure. The Valley is not going to start out the tourney going 0-3.

This isn't just your ordinary run-of-the-mill 0-3 start by a conference. This 0-3 includes 2 (two) 3-14 losses by the 3 seed.

I sure wish we were able to be tested by fire by playing in a REAL conference like the Big 12 so that we could be ready for the NCAA tournament.

After talking s*** all year about how Wichita State and UNI couldn't compete in a real league like the Big 12, Iowa State fans have rationalized the conference's 0-3 start thusly. "Playing against incredible teams every night has worn everyone down."

I got in a pretty big argument at the bar last night with an Iowa fan.

They apparently also have no respect for UNI, and even the 12 point win on a neutral court means nothing to them.

I have an IU student that lives across the street from me. All week he's been trash talking that there's no way a Missouri Valley team can beat the Hoosiers. After the Shockers win today, my son and I are going to wrap his car in yellow and black streamers.

Just point out that WSU is now 5-0 against his precious Big 10 in the last several years, all on neutral courts. It's been six years, three months, and 21 days since a Big 10 team beat Wichita State -- and that required a Michigan State team that played in the national championship game.
