There is no way MSU beats WSU in Wichita right now. I'm not downgrading MSU. I watched the CU game and MSU is good. WSU's specialty this year is running teams into the ground and MSU's depth is likely to leave some tongues hanging out in the last 5 minutes of the first half and last 10 minutes of the game. WSU is still running fresh or rested bodies on the court at those times.
I believe Weems is the best player in the Valley this year. I suspect he's going to get Ellis and Blair guarding him. Weems can make difficult, guarded shots. He's going to need to do that.
WSU matches up with MSU better than most teams in the Valley. MSU doesn't have any mismatches against WSU's starters or second unit. The WSU height advantage at the guard positions could cause MSU fits.
By the end of the season, when WSU plays MSU in SpringPatch on MSU's Sr. Night, MSU's team will be worn down. It's brutal to try to get through a league schedule with 7 players. Almost impossible.
Then there's St. Louis where a worn down MSU team will try to get through 2 games in 2 days to get to WSU in the chamionship game. Good luck.
This is the start of a WSU sweep of MSU this year. 3-0 if MSU can survive long enough in St. Louis to meet the Shox.
Ooops.
